  1. Watched this with my boys (7 & 9) last night. Thought it was great. Really entertaining. The animation was excellent and the story was fun. The boys liked it a lot. I'd definitely recommend it, especially this time of year. A good Halloween rental.
  2. And I know you know it. It would just be horrible if that at-bat became the most memorable moment of the Mets and Beltran's wonderful year.
  3. Carlos looking at a third strike is not the reason the Mets lost the game. Far from it.
  4. For posterity? Because you are a masochist? Or were you caught on camera?
  5. Wright making an amazing play on a smash down the line to save Wagner's ass (and the game) in Philly. OE; one at a time soup, one at a time. Sorry.
  6. I'm hoping Mole will put in a good word for me at The National Enquirer.
  7. That's the rumor.
  8. Here's what I've got from an unnamed source - loyal readers of this poster will know who my various sources are so no need to name them - Trachsel - we know that the 'personal issues' causing him to leave the team were his wife suddenly surprising him with divorce papers. The rumor circulating through the Mets clubhouse was that he shouldn't have been so surprised. The soon-to-be-former Mrs,. T had apparently recently caught our favorite ex-Met throwing his changeup to a free agent. The relationship between Willie and Trachsel had never been great. Since Willie signed on with the Mets in '05 he never liked the kind of player Trachsel was. You don't have to be an insider to know this. When Trachsel begged out of the game against St. Louis, Willie's perception of the the kind of player Steve was rang true throughout the clubhouse. The fact that the manager's feelings toward Trachsel were widely known by the team in the first place didn't help Steve after that game. In fairness to Steve, he probably felt that since he was getting lit up at Busch it might be better for the team if he did get out of the game. Buzzzzz. Wrong choice big guy. Endy Chavez in the lockerroom last night was having an incredibly difficult time. Handling the loss? No. Trying to keep the smile off his face when talking about his catch. According to our mole, Endy was really trying to be morose about the game but just couldn't contain his excitement when recalling his acrobatics. This reporter will give him a pass. Willie and Rick Peterson - not exactly the best of friends. Their working relationship is fine and one can't quibble with the other's job performance but Rick was forced onto Willie and Willie would prefer his own guy. Peterson's incredibly arrogant attitude doesn't help in smoothing things over during those inevitable stressful moments. Will a condition of Barry Zito's contract be that Peterson also must have his contract guaranteed? Will Peterson advise Zito to sign elsewhere if Rick feels his days are numbered? Does any of it really matter? To a man everyone in the Mets postgame lockerroom was diisappointed but there was also a tangible feeling of 'this is just the beguinning' They were all talking about what a great team they are going to be...next year. Stay tuned Mets fans, this team is for real
  9. ="Centerfield"]Has anyone noticed that in the ad where the Indians fans come out of the cabinets, one of them appears to be wearing a Cincinnati Reds cap? That's actually an old Indians cap. This was their old logo
  10. I'll put the hairstylist on it.
  11. Mark David Chapman assasinated somebody. Yadier Molina hit a homerun. There's a difference.
  12. You say stupid, inappropriate things quite a bit MFS.
  13. Meanwhile he's going to Japan for an all-star tour. Hey David - go sit on beach for a bit why dontcha?
  14. But, isn't it my duty... Judy?
  15. I mentioned in the IGT that my 9-year-old was 'in hysterics' after the loss. A better word would actually be 'inconsolable'. I kept telling him that he shouldn't be SO upset, it was just a game and that the Mets are a good young team that should be playing in October for years to come. His reaction to the loss actually helped me put it in perspective so this morning I'm not nearly as upset about it as I might otherwise be. I never had his experience. When I was a kid the Mets were always bad, so they never disappointed me because I never had expectations. When they finally did make it to October I was 21 years old and they won the whole thing. I was caught off guard by his reaction but I'm glad that he has embraced the Mets as passionately as I have. Its something that he and will share for the rest of our lives hopefully. One day I will tease him about his crying after that playoff loss to the Cardinals in '06 and we'll both laugh about it. So thank you Mets for giving me something special to share with my boy.
  16. Gone daddy gone. MetsBeard was returned to the cosmos at approximately 12:30 am. Looking forward to growing another next October.
  17. Next time coldcock her.
  18. My 9 year-old is in hysterics. I'm not far behind.

  20. I switched hats last night. My black/blue brim number didn't do the trick last Friday so I went with the classic blue, orange 'NY'. I'm riding the hot hand from here on in. (Goatee almost long enough to start acting as a flavor saver)
  21. Yes but this particular thread here happens to be about the uniforms..
  22. Pinstripes and blue hats 1-0. No excuse not to go with this classic combo tonight.
