  4. HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY!!!!!! ="soupcan"]Ahem - ="soupcan"]Fact: On September 14, 1977 Nino Espinosa pitched a complete game 3 hit shutout against the Phillies at the Vet beating them 1-0 and handing eventual 23 game winner, and '77 Cy Young winner, Steve Carlton one of his 10 defeats that year in the process. Thank you. Harrrumph.

  8. Opinion: Ron Darling's wife Toni was a hottie. Fact: On September 14, 1977 Nino Espinosa pitched a complete game 3 hit shutout against the Phillies at the Vet beating them 1-0 and handing eventual 23 game winner, and '77 Cy Young winner, Steve Carlton one of his 10 defeats that year in the process.
  9. Opinion: Darryl never wanted to be the Black Ted Williams he wanted to be the next Reggie Jackson. Fact: In the winter of 1987, the main scoreboard at Shea Stadium was redesigned/upgraded/modernized. The redesign incorporated additional space below the out-of-town scoreboard to list a RF and LF umpire that would be utilized during postseason games in anticipation of the Mets playing in the postseason frequently in the years to come.
  10. The Onion can be funny but they need to expand beyond 'Opposite Day' humor.
  11. RMPL
  12. P.S. Marky-Mark delivers the best line in the movie.
  13. The story goes that it was Marv's birthday and they had a cake for him in the clubhouse after the game. By the time Marv got to the clubhouse there was no cake left. Marv complained to Casey who said: "We wuz gonna give you a piece Marv, but we were afraid you'd drop it." Mark Bomback...

I was happy that I'd have someone friendly with whom to slog through the tech class. Of course, she's in a different cohort, so I'm going to be alone with the tech geeks in the class. But it was a nice dream while it lasted. I guess this means that school is preoccupying me more than this place at the moment. Doesn't seem to be anything too complicated. Being with your friends makes you happy. The fun of the interpretation thing is when you've got several different things happening evoking different emotions and where each one fits in. You just play with the stuff until you think you've got what seems like a logical conclusion. I'm no expert by any means I just like trying to figure it out.
  15. Dime store analysis - When you are scared, unsure and sometimes confused (closet door opening, closing, the right way, the wrong way) about life in general you always know that you have your cyber friends at the Cranepool (Edgy) to keep you company (the cat). The 'Pool (cat) is a constant comfort for you. OE: Maybe being allergic to the cat is that while it comforts you, perhaps it shouldn't be the only thing that does. How's that?
  16. Rockin' Doc wrote: Soupcan Freud I presume. Naaah, somebody just educated me on the topic once. ="cooby"]No no no! The closet door was haunted! The cat (and it wasn't mine) was in bed with me. And that can never be because I am allergic. Edgy was only on my mind. Emotions, baby, emotions. Break it down - what were you feeling during each part of the dream?
  17. Again, the interperatation is more about the emotions you experience during the dream than the actual symbolism. Think about how you felt during the dream. When the closet door was opening and closing were you scared, apprehensive, excited? Were you happy to see the cat? Comforted? Uncomfortable? Was Edgy coming out of the closet? Because well, that's pretty obvious...

    Forget it, I'm a dumbass.
  19. Pretty cool, huh?
  20. A big part of interpereting dreams has to do with the emotions you feel when experiencing the dream. Sounds to me like you went from happy (Mets in the Series) to disbelief ('Wait, it can't be the World Series') to fright (scary announcer face yelling at you). So I conclude that there is something in your life that you want to happen but doubt it will, and maybe if it did it might scare you a bit. How close am I?

  22. Saw this last night - I gave it an 8. DeCaprio finally wins me over after years of trying and scores of movie roles. The guy can act! Who knew? Alec Baldwin should never be the star of a movie again. He is just so damn good in supporting roles. Mark Wahlberg who I am a reluctant fan of does a great job here. Nicholson didn't do much for me and Damon was serviceable. Didn't notice any MFY hat on Jack though.
  23. Loved this movie, Macy, Baldwin & Bello were all great and the title was good too.
  24. Sold dogs at Shea prior to pitching for the Mets. Ron Hodges?
  25. Yes please.
