  1. I was doing Origami when the Mets scored their runs, I'll go do some more..
  2. That sucked.
  3. BTW - it's Snapalope season.
  4. Endy, Endy, Endy...c'mon Endy.
  5. I wouldn't mind that at all.

  7. I got a stomachache.
  8. I'd just hate it if the Mets won the bid with say 15-20 mil then signed the guy to a 3-4 year deal at 10-12 per and he turns out to be Joe Average-san. Sure the Mets have enough money to not be completely hamstrung but that didn't stop them from suffering through last season and parts of this with Matsui still getting plenty of PT. I prefer Zito.
  9. -Steinbrenner may have the most valuable team in baseball but I highly doubt he is the wealthiest owner. -Doesn't Seattle also have at least part Japanese ownership? -Who is the best pitcher ever to come over from Japan - Nomo? He was good when he was good but a top free agent contract on top of a $20 million fee? Pass.
  10. Chicago? High pressure? No way. They just want to drink and have fun.

You see Hillary Swank, you praise her for taking on the noble but hopeless task of trying to get the Karate Kid franchise off of life support.Let me tell you something - that smile of hers was such a dazzler I was lucky I said anything before she flashed it. Had she hit me with it first I would have simply drooled and babbled.
  12. Assuming Mex files his return as a Florida resident because there's probably little or no personal income tax or other incentives for him to do so. As a result he has to actually 'reside' there. Assume that 'residing' is defined by spending at least 6 months out of the year in the state. When I first heard that Keith 'had' to spend some time in Florida I assumed it was because of some sort of probation related to drugs or child support or something. Do you think he would forgive me?
  13. ="Valadius"]Jon Stewart threw out the first pitch at one of our recent games. They played footage of it, including Willie teasing him about his throw, on tonight's episode of "The Daily Show".Stewart threw out the first pitch Friday night and, how could I have forgotten this, Hilary Swank was sitting in the VIP seats wearing a black Mets cap. Couldn't find a picture of her at the game but she looked great. She walked down the aisle past my seat and I said 'Hilary, nice to see you, big fan.' She turned, flashed me a gorgeous movie star smile, said 'thanks' and kept walking. If only the Mets would've won...
  14. That's a good point. Not seeing a lot of Cardinal games I really only knew about Pujols' personality through fluff pieces in magazines. Watching him during the games though, he seems to constantly be instructing his teammates or scowling at them for some reason or another, not taking the extra base when he thinks they should, not making the routine play. Maybe he's right and is trying to be a leader but when I, as a fan, notice that it strikes me as being overly demonstrative and I can't imagine that his teammates appreciate it. The surlyness with reporters surprises me because I've never heard about it coming from him but its not like thats unprecedented for a superstar (Steve Carlton, Eddie Murray, etc.)
  15. I can't believe that they don't respect the Mets I just don't understand the strategy - if in fact is their strategy and not just my over active imagination. Do you see the same trend?
  16. And that would address this issue how?
  17. That's David Letterman.
  18. I get the distinct impression from things I've heard and quotes I've read during this Cards-Mets series that the Cardinals are going out of their way to disrespect my favorite team From Pujols saying that Glavine 'wasn't very good' in Game 1, to LaRussa giving no credit to the Mets hitters last night, saying basically that if his hitters were given fastballs down the middle they would've hit them too. What's up with that? Doesn't it go against conventional wisdom not to rile your opponent up? Anybody else thinking this? I'd be curious to see what Mets players have to say about this, if anything, should they be lucky enough to win the series.
  19. If he wins then of course that's the scenario we want. Pay no attention to me I'm a moron.
  20. I don't know which is preferable. Glavine pitching (and winning) tonight and being well rested for a possible Game 1 or Glavine going tomorrow on regular rest. I figure that he'd be better against the Cards on regular rest but he's probably prepared himself well for a start tonight so maybe pitching tomorrow would throw him off? I'm so confoosed.

  22. But blue helmets are better than black caps, right?
  23. Are blue caps preferable to blue batting helmets or are the helmets just as good?
  24. Well that's the challenge.
