  1. Got no problem with the dot - in fact I like it. I think it only adds to the classic. Dodgers, Cubs - they got dots. It doesn't look like a beanie. If you attached a propeller to it, then it would look like a beanie Now if you really want to talk about the dumbing down of the classics then lets talk about the black drop shadows underneath the script Mets on the home unis and underneath 'New York' on the road grays. That's just utter disrespect. And it looks bad.

  3. Ray Sadecki's wife?
  4. Yancy Street Gang wrote: I'm beginning to think I'm in the minority, but I like the blue/black a lot better than the all black. I'm with Yancy on this. Hate, hate, hate the all-black cap. I tolerate the black & blue but would prefer it only on the road and worn with the road greys. ="Edgy DC"]The blue insignia outlined by orange on a field of black is abominiable. The blue and black clash and the orange seems like a hasty solution to that problem, but ends up broadly overdrawing the logo and destroys the simplistic beauty of the thing. It's a domino effect of ugly. Could not agree more with that statement. The kids like the black. I guess that black connotes 'badass' on some level and kids like to think that their team, and by extension they, are badass. I guess. I just hope its a fashion trend that fades out sooner rather than later. Things I hate at Shea - That goddamned Homerun Apple. The 'Jose, Jose, Jose chant when initiated by the sound system. When the fans start it, its great, but I hate being manipulated.
  5. I wish I did but nope.
  6. Mets win! Gotta watch the Yankee postgame now - see ya!
  7. Nuh-uh. Yankees are getting spanked 9-1 and I feel like I'm there!
  8. Marlon Anderson delivers the tonic for what ails ya.
  9. I said you have to mute it!
  10. ="Willets Point"]I think this is just a surly George Foster post speaking.
  11. I hat all of you.
  12. Calm down, I'm just making an observation. I'm telling you though, watching a Yankee game on YES HD is pretty incredible - you gotta mute it though.
  13. Yeesh. Really? I'll shut up now.
  14. I gotta say that when it comes to watching games in HD, YES has got it all over SNY. First of all only Met home games are shown in HD on SNY. Road games are regular broadcasts. On YES, all games are in HD. And not only that but the HD on YES is far, and I mean far, superior to that of SNY. It is really such a better picture that I find myself watching Yankee games because of the picture. Truly. Am I alone on this or has anyone else noticed? Any theories as to the quality difference between the two HD channels? Does SNY have any plans to broadcast all Met games in HD and not just the home games? This inquiring Mets fan wants to know.
  15. Bases loaded. Chipper pops up. Pat Burrell he ain't.
  16. Its only a game, its only a game, its only a game, its only a game.
  17. Amazing. 10-10.

  19. You know - if we all weren't all stressed out about not getting swept and could look at this game in and of itself - it's a pretty damn good, exciting game. I now return you to your regular programming...
  20. They should just trade for Burrel so he doesn't play against them. 10-9 Mets.
  21. Delgado flies out to deep center, Wright moves to third. Howie made it sound like it was gone off the bat. I need to change my underwear.
  22. Rollins lead off double. Utley flies to right. Burrell pops to Difelice. Howard homers to center. 2-0 Phils.
  23. Hey man, I'd love for them to be thumping teams to death too but in the big picture they've been really good in close games this year. Sometimes the ball bounces the wrong way. How about this - Howard, Burrell, Rollins and Utley are having a good series, Reyes, Castillo, Alou and Delgado are not, and the Phillies have still had to scratch it out the last two nights.
  24. Johnny Dickshot wrote: ]They've played well enough to win. That's the part I don't buy. Last night's game didn't come down to just a bad decision on the basepaths, it was a result of home runs on 0-2 couts, walking the pitcher, and getting picked off first base twice. On Tuesday, the swinging bunt was bad luck but the stolen base play was just sloppy shit. bad throw, bad receiving of that throw and bad backing up of the play. Not to mention a completely worthless effort from the offense. We didn't play well enough to win that game, not even close. Monday? Didn't even try. Looked a lot like a continuation of Sunday. I don't mean to excuse the losses. They've played well enough to win AND played well enough to lose. But so have the Phillies. The difference in the last two games were the Castiilo error/swinging bunt and last night's intereference call. Yes, they should have socked away both those games earlier so it wouldn't come down to those incidents. But the Phillies were walking the tightrope as well. They're not blowing us out of the park (save for Monday). My point I guess is that if they'd played the exact same way they did the last two games and Castillo doesn't make the error and Rowan's ball doesn't go fair, maybe they win 2-1. If Marlon doesn't get overzealous and they win by scores of 4-3, then no one here is pulling their hair out because they didn't win convincingly enough. On the flip side they are not losing convincingly.
