  1. Answer toSteveJRogers puzzle is all three have last names that are nouns (sort of)? SABERhagen KNIGHT VIOLA
  2. The fucked up thing is that part of me would love to have my name in a brick at the stadium. Bastards.
  3. Hey....I liked those white hats.
  4. For only a small fee you can prove you're a bigger (better?) fan than your friends.. Me: "I'll be forever remembered as a true Mets fan. My garandchildren will be able to show their children how wonderful a fan I was! My Mets fan legacy will live on into eternity!" Mets: "This is a great way to suck even more money out of our fan base under the guise of making them think their great-grandchildren will give a shit." Temple Israel, Westport, CT: "Hey! The Mets stole our idea!"

  6. Cuddly bunnies?
  7. Iubitul wrote: Here's a question I haven't seen asked anywhere: What part does the ban on amphetamines have on the collapse of the bullpen? Well I didn't see any other teams complete an epic collapse so I'd have to say little to none.
  8. Less than $30, less than 10. And after reading that article I don't think Wright would be to amenable to moving.
  9. sharpie wrote: For a good player Renteria has been on a lot of teams: Marlins - Cards - Red Sox - Braves - Tigers. Reminds me of Soriano. Good player - Yankees - Rangers - Nationals - Cubs. I guess thems are the breaks when you are a guy that's good enough to want on your team and good enough for another team to want.
  10. One can only hope.
  11. Yancy Street Gang wrote: Wright offered to move to second for Rodriguez earlier this year. I think I'd rather see him move to first and the Mets could deal Delgado. My initial reaction is that I do not want ARod on the Mets. But that's really kind of stupid isn't it? He is at least the best player of this generation and in the prime of his career. Wright, Reyes and ARod in the same infield looks pretty sweet on paper and I'm not the one (technically) paying the salaries so why should I care how much ARod makes? On the other hand, offense wasn't the Mets problem this year and Alex doesn't appear to have the greatest effect on teams chemistry-wise. Good luck with this one Omar.
  12. metsguyinmichigan wrote: Eduardo Perez was just asked on SportsCenter if there was another National League team that would have done better against the Sox. Without blinking, he said the Mets. He said the injuries to El Duque and Beltran down the stretch did them in, and that without the injuries they were the best team in baseball. I don't know if that made me feel better or worse. Eduardo Perez obviously wasn't watching the same team I was. Every pitcher on the staff forgot how to pitch and that's what did them in.
  13. That is funny. I watched Timecop the other night. It challenges Schwarzenegger's Commando for the title of best worst movie starring a muscular guy with a foreign accent who can't act. And although Timecop is in that race, Commando is just a true classic that can't be beat. The interesting thing about both movies is that they both star Rae Dawn Chong. In closing let me say this: WAM! BAM! THANK YOU VAN DAMM!

    Knocked Up

Saw it this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Wasn't expecting it too be as funny as the hype but turns out that I thought it was. It dragged in spots but overall it was entertaining.
  15. This is quite funny....
  16. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: STEROID AMNESTY NOW!!!! Seriously. This is so much dog-and-pony. 'Tis true. By the time this steroid crap is all said and done there are going to be so many guys linked in one way or another that it'll just be impossible to sanction all of them. Amnesty, classify it as 'the steroid era', whatever. Just enough already.

  18. Vic Sage wrote: Look, I'm not talking about a 7-year deal, or even a 5 year deal. but 3years/$40m for Posada is (in my view) "smarter" than 1 year/$5m for LoDuca, in terms of getting over the hump and deep into the post-season. ="vtmet"]Sign him with the provision that they can move him to 1st base anytime that they want (to avoid the Piazza-dilemna where they were afraid to step on his toes for the longest time)...That way, if he is semi competent there, against RHP: it's Delgado at 1st with Posada behind the plate; and with a LHP throwing, it's Posada at 1st with Castro behind the plate...and if he works out at 1B with some sort of long term catching solution down the pike, then he moves to 1B full time (some time after Delgado's departure)... If Posada were to sign Vic's 3 year/$45 mil deal and agree to go to first whenever he's told then sign him up right now. There's other teams out there that will pay him more, give him more years and not make him change positions whenever they want.
  19. Right, but I'm saying that the only way I'd deal players of that caliber for Santana is if I've got him locked up. Otherwise, no.
  20. Vic Sage wrote: Posada is a better player than LoDuca, and will do more to help the Mets win next year, regardless of price or length of contract. Let the money boys worry about the $$. Lets just focus on making the team better. And with a new stadium, a regional sports network and record attendence, i'm not sympathetic to the Mets budgetary concerns. So you won't be bitching and moaning about the fly-ball hitting, injury prone catcher that clogs up the Mets lineup and has to play because of his salary in 2010 and beyond?
  21. I'm assuming any deal involving Santana would be contingent on locking him up long-term. I agree with what Vic said about any three players.
  22. Depending on the years and the money?
  23. Smart in that I'd rather give LoDuca a year and then revisit the catcher position in the next off-season rather than giving an aging catcher a multi-year major dollar deal. Also if you don't re-sign LoDuca and you don't get Posada, what's your Plan C? Brad Ausmus?
  24. Has anyone ever seen Yancy and SteveJRogers in the same room together?
