  6. ]I feel justified in being sickened by listening to Met fans who GROSSLY OVERestimated what it would takeIf Haha, that's true. If you were to listen to Met fans, then Cameron should've been traded for Sturtze a long time ago. I daresay one or two people on this forum were looking to trade Cameron for Urbina, though I don't feel like searching what's left of the archives to be mean.
  7. I didn't realize Polanco was worth that much.
  8. Cubs beat Jays 2-0.Interesting game in Atlanta today at 7. Escobar v. Hudson. The Skanks face Capuano tonight in Milwaukee.
  9. I guess the need to make sure that batting order change doesn't negatively affect Wright psychologically far outweighs the need to have your best all around hitter (thus far, minus Cameron?) hit with more runners on base.Silly Willie. Not that I'd hit him 3rd, but I damn sure would've hit him above Marlon Anderson yesterday.
  10. Pedro and Tom are the only two pitchers on the Mets with enough IP to qualify for the ERA lead.I didn't think a new thread was warranted for this nugget.Pedro is tied for 9th in the majors in ERA, and tied for 10th in wins.
  11. I believe [u:78e77bd2b1]anyone[/u:78e77bd2b1] is defined in Webster's as: "All humans not nicknamed Chipper".
  12. Didn't we open 2002 at 16-11 and first place in the East? I thought that after that the team went straight to the toilet. I didn't realize they were four over as late as July 31.
  13. Duquette said this on M&MD after Kaz's signing "Everyone who's seen Matsui play say he's as good as Ordonez and Reyes as a SS. Not as flashy but as good.", according to thread #2 in Wide's post.I'm pro-Kaz in terms of giving him a shot over Cairo, but I think that "everyone" needs to be fired.

  21. In the post-game and during the game, they said that the pen lost three of Pedro's leads this year. I remember Opening Day of course, and I thought I remembered one more, but I didn't think there was a third.Opening Day was definitely a shoulda won. Pedro could be 8-1. As long as he's being jinxed up and down, a Met winning the Cy Young would be cool. The SBS (or is it SSB?) team is going to have a my head on a platter.
  22. That's what I was wondering - who does make those calls?

  24. ]X-rays on Mets first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz's chest were negative. He has a bruised pectoral muscle and rib and is day-to-day.
  25. ]Take Pedro out and we miss this, pure joy..Pure joy is always fun, and complete games are always fun. But I'd still rather see pure joy and complete games in September and October.
