  1. I have no problem with Acta for the most part this year. I really, really didn't like Galante.
  2. Cameron and Beltran were smiling and giggling and pointing at each other after Beltran caught the first out near the track in near straightaway ceneter in the top of the seventh.
  3. Izturis dove and the ball hit his glove and rolled to the left. Floyd stopped from Acta's signal, then Acta started him again. Izturis popped up, got to the ball, and threw him out by 20 feet.
  4. Is Kent a hall of famer? The mustache certainly helps his case in my books.
  5. 1-5-3 groundout off of Benson's foot. I thought Robles would beat it out but Wright had him by a couple of strides. And a #$(*&#(*$& bunt single.
  6. Piazza's grounder is ruled a hit. Questionable. Hit fairly well, high hop had Kent for lunch. 4-0 Mets.
  7. Hitting Penny well so far, Floyd with a ball ten feet to the right of the pole, then hits one to straight center. Bradley got his glove on it, but couldn't catch it. ALmost looked to me like Bradley slowed up a little.Maybe he's just slow. He looks a little chunky after his DL stint. 3-0 Mets.Floyd steals third. This is a gosh-darn exciting team to watch.
  8. Beltran is using his legs again! Instead of pulling up at second after a hit in the left-center gap, he took third. Slid in, but he could've gone standing.
  9. Apparently Wright's single in the second increased his streak to 11 games with a hit.
  10. After Benson strikes out, Reyes grounds into a fielder's choice and then is thrown out (!?!?!?) trying to steal second.
  11. Minky has clearly lost his mind. He tried to steal second. Luckily Cairo fouled the pitch off.Cairo then singles to left. First and second, no out, two runs already in.
  12. Piazza with a two run line drive to the last row of the bleachers.
  13. BTW, I enjoyed this article. Thanks, Irish.
  14. ]I want to see a ballclub capable of recognizing young talent and, assuming that ballclub has more holes than Albert Hall (as the Mets did and do), promoting that young talent instead of playing place-holding, inept veterans for the face-saving reason of being able to convince weak-minded fans that they're a seriously contending team when they are anything but. I easily can understand your frustration from the Mets based on last year's trading deadline moves, no matter how well Benson and Zambrano have pitched. But why keep going on and on about this? These trades have been lamented, ad nauseum, by many including myself. Why not wait until this year's trading deadlines to see how they do? Using Wright and Reyes as examples of the Mets inability to be what you mention in the quote is silly, IMHO.]Yet nary a complaint or a pang of faint nausea when KC posted it at four times the size. That's a fair proportion for the ratio of even-handedness around here, >4x for a pro-Mets poster (you know you are, KC, that's why you're so beloved) to that of one critical of the Mets. I think the difference here is that KC posted it once, whereas every post you've ever made now has this attached to it. Smaller size or no, it's the quantity, not the size that may be making Spaceman sick.
  15. Beltran with the dive into first. Can Willie whack him with a bat.He woulda been out even if he ran through the bag.
  16. ]Reyes ground-rule doubled to right, Cairo to third, Anderson out at second. Reyes to first. I have no idea what that's about. Simple fielder's choice, with no relay.Cameron pops up.Crap.
  17. Washington losing 5-0. Atlanta's game starts at 9:15.The first 1-2-3 inning for a Met pitcher today. Padilla done it.Warning track flyout for Minky. A hard grounder by Cairo eats Izturis up, and is ruled a single. Anderson hits one in the hole into left. First and second, one out, and my heart is thumping.Groundball to Choi, Anderson out at second.
  18. I like it when Beltran shoves the text back down my keyboard.I'm so excited, I'll buy him a drink3 quick outs to follow the homer. We got a game. Dammit, I was just ready to leave too.
  19. KABOOM!!! 6-5!!!!
  20. Reyes singles.Reyes running, Cammy hits a weak roller through the hole vacated by Kent. First and third no outs. Time for Carlos to step up.
  21. Minky with a two run Kaboom that lands over the 1969 "flag".
