  1. That's one for the freak injury thread too. ____________________________ This post had the designation 155) David Segui
  2. I'm not into bashing Willlie. I just think the Cairo decision was terrible. Not just him, though, every fool on the FAN, 99% of the media, and I daresay even a few around these parts agreed with him. Morons? No. Too quick to throw in the towel on Kaz, and much too quick to assume last year was a better representation of Cairo's ability than his entire career? Absolutely. ____________________________ This post had the designation 155) David Segui
  3. I think so. I see him being one of the better starters at second base from an offensive standpoint, this side of guys like Kent or a roided Boone. ____________________________ This post had the designation 155) David Segui
  4. And yeah, the fact that Cairo was consistently starting, while playing awfully, and only giving Matsui a day here and a day there (including at least one 3 for 4 game) is pretty moronic. ____________________________ This post had the designation 155) David Segui
  5. Well, he did go a little overboard when saying it, but I think his point is true. Playing Cairo when a healthy Matsui was an option was the wrong decision. If you want to discount Matsui's hot streak as a flash in the pan, Cairo's poor play proved he's not an everyday option. ____________________________ This post had the designation 155) David Segui
  6. I believed in you Kaz! Way to go!!! ____________________________ This post had the designation 155) David Segui
  7. Did they have to lose the first one? Couldn't they just have one once, to give me one more day of denial? *bummed* _____________________________ This post had the designation 155) David Segui
  8. KazMet's career stats: 196 G, 714 AB, 93 R, 189 H, 41 2B, 5 3B, 10 HR, 68 RBI, 20 SB, 4 CS, .265 AVG, .320 OBP, .378 SLG, .698 OPS. Not too good. He did have a .727 OPS in 2004 and was on pace to hit 42+ doubles over 150 games. I still say we shouldn't shut the door in his face. But then I'm a hopeless optimist. _____________________________ This post had the designation 155) David Segui
  9. And the Mets take the lead in this battle. _____________________________ This post had the designation 155) David Segui
  10. Glavine 4 Anderson 2.75 Matsui 1.75 Hernandez 0.75 Jacobs 0.75 OE: JD had a good point. Way to go Kaz. _____________________________ This post had the designation 155) David Segui
  11. Teddy is shocked by the run differential that the Mets have had. He must have been reading this forum. ____________________________ This post had the designation 155) David Segui

  13. I hope Willie is watching. Frank wants to get tossed. And I'm totally against the whole "Get tossed to hype up your team" thing. _____________________________ This post was the last post Elster88 made under the designation 155) David Segui
  14. Wright hit on the elbow with a pitch, and the know is already visible seconds later, as is the stitching from the ball. I knew we should shut him down for the year. _____________________________ This post was the last post Elster88 made under the designation 165) Pete Harnisch
  15. Edgy DC wrote: Are they disrespecting Matsui tonight?' I missed his announcements and first two at-bats. ____________________________ This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
  16. A very Ichiro-esque hit for Kaz there. With two strikes, he fouled off the high curve, and you could tell he was following it perfectly. Then he went down for the curve off the shoetops, not fooled at all, and lined it over the third baseman's head. A perfect throw gets him on the steal attempt, but he took third when the ball was bounced into center. Beltran, of course, grounds out to end the inning. I almost felt like joining in with the boo birds. Instead I yelled, "Get him next time, Carlos!". Grrrrr. ____________________________ This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
  17. 5 doubles and 4 homers make up 9 of Jacobs' 13 hits. I think we have a new isolated power leader for the team. ____________________________ This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
  18. That was a no-doubter. Right fielder just turned to watch. ____________________________ This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
  19. Nice Kaboom, Zvon! Me like. ____________________________ This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
  20. Marlon having himself a game. 3-2.
  21. Hmph. I didn't realize. I'm a grouch. ____________________________ This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
  22. I've got a six-pack of Sam Adams in the fridge waiting for the right moment. It might be time to get started. ____________________________ This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
  23. 1 run off the emergency starter through 3. Even if the Mets have a team OPS of 1.500 for the rest of the year I will still say they can't hit. That's how disgusted I am. Dammit and I thought I was jumping on the Denial Bandwagon. ____________________________ This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
  24. I was thinking "There goes the bullpen" when Frannie said that someone was warming. But then I saw Vic Z in the pen. Nice to have a real long man. And I'm not talking about his locker room prowess. ____________________________ This post had the designation 156) Pete Harnisch
