  2. Houston beats Texas. Combine that with the White Sock loss to the Yankees and the Tiger loss to Twins and both those teams are out of the wild card. Oh and the Nationals are out. Rays lose. Then the Astros win again and the Rays and Mariners are eliminated simultaneously. 9/279/279/269/269/269/209/199/189/139/139/129/119/109/9
  3. I love you Gary but Harvey didn't have a big smile on his face at any moment there. Stop projecting.
  4. Where is PoP4?
  5. I'm still annoyed that he was playing second in the first place. A right handed bat with pop is nice to have on the bench.
  6. Blue Jays win and Astros lose so the Jays clinch a postseason spot. If the Giants lose the Cubs will back in to a playoff spot today. 9/19 - Wildcard9/23 - Wildcard9/24 - AL Central9/26 - Wildcard9/26 - Wildcard Giants lose. All the NL Central teams are locked in.

  15. Angel Hernandez walked up on Terry and Keith rightly admonished him for not even belonging there in the first place.
  16. 9/19 - Wildcard9/23 - Wildcard
  17. They're losing games right now, but they're going to make the playoffs and the future is bright on the strength of five young starters alone. Life is good.
  18. I hear what you're saying... But the Mets have been to the playoffs 7 times. Enjoy it.

I don't know you expect Terry to do. Go against everyone and refuse to take Harvey out? Start another media firestorm? Will that work? And what can Sandy do here? Fire Terry, make himself manager, and have Harvey pitch the whole game? Do you think Sandy ordering Terry to make Harvey pitch the whole game is the solution? It all started with the agent and the player.

The radio guys said that Harvey looked upset about being taken out, but that he should've expected this since it was the plan. Apparently whatever broadcast Zvon is watching showed Harvey kickin' back with a brew saying "I'm done, bro!" No. But what I hoped to see was Harvey saying:" Hey, I'm a big boy. I can make my own decisions. I'm at 80 pitches. I'm good for at least one more inning." And bottom line we really don't know what was said. We can speculate. Yes, because you're angry at Harvey for not doing something that you cannot possibly know whether he's done it or not. Because Mets fans have to hate their best players. And make them media laughingstocks. And make them want out of the organizations ASAP. Because we can't have nice things. I know this isn't directed at me... But I agree with you. I want Harvey to pitch here for many years to come.

Mets Willets Point wrote: Collins made the wrong decision tonight based on crappy organizational policy Sounds like we agree. It's odd that the take of the ESPN announcers (and the radio guys I guess?) was that Harvey didn't want to come out. If he didn't want to abide by the plan for a short day he could've told his agent and doctor to go fuck themselves in advance of the game. I totally understand his decision by the way. If a doctor tells me I could screw up my arm before I get my 200 million contract by pitching too much I would be nervous too. But it's his decision and for the ESPN booth to say he looked like he didn't want to come out it odd, because this is the result of a couple of weeks of discussion that started with his agent opening his big mouth. Well actually it's not odd on ESPN's part, I expect them to not know what's going on in the world or to think before they speak. But I'm surprised that the radio guys are saying the same stuff too. Did no one point out that if he's annoyed at coming out that he should just realize that it's really his own fault/doing by going along with the limit? Maybe he regrets his decision now that he's in the game and it's actually happening, if so he should remember that for the next start.
