  1. I just think his cross is stupid looking.
  2. Vic Sage wrote: Maddux at 75% of his former glory is better than trax at 100%. True. But at this point Maddux is at about 50% of his former self.
  3. Nady's on the 15-day DL right? His picture here says 60.
  4. soupcan wrote: Wright - 5 Milledge - 6 Reyes - 7 That would be cool. Another good point! The CPFers get the numbers done.
  5. seawolf17 wrote: No 1 (too Mookie), no 9 (too Jefferies). LOL....good points.
  6. No one really has one then, no?
  7. I'm not sure about coaches, but other than 4, 5, and 7, I think all the single digits are available.
  8. I dunno. Why not bat him eighth? He hasn't been hitting all THAT well in AAA.
  9. Bernie was out for three weeks. I think we'll be able to survive without Nady for a month or so, but if someone else gets hurt our offense will probably see a dramatic decline.
  10. That's exciting. Victor Diaz = forgotten man.
  11. I'd argue that this is not about a team playing over its head. This is about a team that is better than most of the teams it plays. In baseball, that can often equate to one-run wins. It's the nature of the game.
  12. Is it fair that Heilman, or anyone, is given a blown save for losing the lead in an inning that would not have earned him a save even if he completed it? Shouldn't it be called a blown hold or something?
  13. The Braves have played 18 games at home and 32 on the road. I think that is the lowest home/away ratio in baseball. They are 12-6 at home and return to Atlanta to play LA today.
  14. The Yankees are about to shut out your Major League Leading Detroit Tigers (6 IP, 2 H, 3 BB , 4 K by Randy?!?!).
  15. About 9 hours late cooby ;-)
  16. Willets Point wrote: If a small bone pops up anywhere on the body other than between the thighs I think it's a cause for concern. LOL.... ...and agreed.
  17. That's a great KTE!!! If I had no knowledge of the team and just looked at that lineup I'd have thought that this team was playing .333 baseball. It's ugly-looking. 'Course the 2001 D'backs had Matt Williams batting sixth (?) for game 7 of the World Series, so it's all relative.
  18. ="nymets.com"]Steve Trachsel said the small bone that popped out in his upper back on Tuesday was put back in place the same night and he has had no trouble with it. Thus, Trachsel said he is ready to pitch on Monday against the Diamondbacks. I added the bold for emphasis. I never even heard about this.
  19. Seriously though, a thread on Bonds?
  20. I'll take it.
  21. I am glad for Maddux that he shaved that moustache.
  22. Edgy DC wrote: Three hits today. Bring on more back spasms. Four
  23. Willets Point wrote: Are the standards so low that its ok if the bullpen only needs to be taxed for 3 innings each start instead of 4-5? Pretty much...
  24. Maybe you already have this Yancy, but is there a way to search on MLB awards? Like Cy Young Award, Silver Slugger, etc?
  25. If the Brewer fans who come by here are looking to read intelligent thoughts on the Mets, then I really hope they stay out of the Red Light District.
