  1. In between. Basically they rid themselves of a guy who didn't pan out and who the fans hated. Since we're still paying and only getting Marrero as a player, it really won't affect the team, IMHO.
  2. I just sprayed Coke all over my monitor. Thanks, CF.
  3. Yeah that's what I was trying to say too. I feel pretty much exactly the same. 'Course, maybe he will be happier away from the assho boo-birds. Would he rather play on a playoff team and endure for the next few months, or go live a happier life in Colorado.

  5. What's the point of this trade? To get him off the 25-man? If we're paying the difference anyways... I guess getting him off the 25-man is reason enough.

  7. I'd rather Bannister start and L Doo K go to the pen. Subject to change.
  8. Bannister to return, too.
  9. That ball in the ninth that was a sac fly would've been out of any other park, just the shape of Chase held it in.
  10. metirish wrote: That article backs up what FK said....the "Melkey way"...that's just terrible. I had thought that the only original thing about Chris Berman was his nicknames (even though it's annoying now, back in the day I loved hearing things like Jeff Brown Paper Bagwell), but maybe he lifted that from Sterling.

  13. Even though I don't agree with everything you said Steve, that's a great post!! (SC = zero)
  14. Julio had a save this year. Musta been a three inning job.
  15. On the Mets' site's stats page, a D. Williams is listed as having pitched 40 innings this season. I'm confused. Did we just make another trade or is the website simply screwed up or am I going nucking futs?
  16. Compromise: 3 and a half:
  17. I give Willie some credit for the game where Bradford got the save. Not a lot of credit, because if an average person like myself realized that the big three needed rest then Willie should have known it too. Actually even less credit because he has Peterson to help him. Forget it, I give him no credit. That was an obvious move. Managers should not be given credit for doing the obvious.
  18. Sanchez and Heilman are not pitching as well as they were earlier in the year. I see two possible reasons for this: 1) They are being overused. 2) They were pitching so well in the beginning of the year that no human being could hope to keep it up the entire season, and are just returning to normal. I think it's #2. I can never figure out what a "normal" workload is for a middle reliever.
  19. NY Post wrote: Matsui is a candidate to be released by the Mets, according to a person with knowledge of the club's thinking. "When asked to expound on their source, the Post elaborated as follows, 'He has knowledge of the club's thinking. He told us that they think using their brains.'"
  20. What?
  21. Maybe Chase bought Bank One. I think there's only like three banks left in America.
  22. What were you going for?
  23. ]Said Willie Randolph: "The first couple of games was very uncharacteristic of what he is. He's a command guy, a control pitcher, a master of changing speeds and hitting his spots. That, to me, was vintage El Duque. Hopefully he can continue that." I hope Hernandez pitches like he did yesterday for the rest of the year. But I'm not going to hold my breath. Willie's got it backwards. The first couple of games were characteristic of what El Duque is today. Yesterday was very uncharacteristic of what he is. Maybe in two months it'll be the other way around, but right now Willie said it wrong.
  24. If Franco only plays first, then from a pure on-the-field standpoint, Franco should be the one to go when Nady comes back if we don't remove a bullpenner. I realize that contract length and leadership also factor into such decisions.
