  2. How did Reyes get to second? Gamecast shows a single and then him moving to third on Woody's groundout.
  3. Interesting that they are discussing where they can move Milton. Last I checked they were still in the race. They probably know something about their team that I don't.
  4. I don't see much reason for hating the Reds either. They're just anudder team to me.
  5. There's a thread on that board where they talk about the Mets. I think everyone who posted on it went out of their way to say they DON'T hate the Mets. Interesting. I love reading out of town people think about baseball in general and the Mets in particular. Did I mention that yet?
  6. I knew next to nothing about him, so it's less of a surprise than someone who I thought reeked. To me, anyways.
  7. It might just be my adoration for the guy, but I had thought that most of his TV interviews were a little more than the average cliche-filled norm. I'll have to keep a less-biased eye on the next one.

You know nothing about baseball.Too caught up in Bill James and new style stats. Have you ever played the game beyond little league? You are totally wrong about Reyes Hey! Bring back Elster ya nitwit I know enough about baseball to realize Reyes hasn't been on a team that won a championship yet. I don't read Bill James, but I've never heard of a writer explain how to tell when a player has a World Series ring. Most people can figure that out on their own. Just not you I guess. Or maybe you just can't read? Try having someone explain my post to you if you're having trouble.
  9. I like reading other boards. I think I remember that one from last year. Too bad this is our last game with the Reds, I woulda liked to read their IGT's and stuff.
  10. Guillen can't handle Chicago. Is Mariotti one of the morons that I saw one of the three times I watched Around the Horn?
  11. Edgy DC wrote: All my love to Zvon, but I'm starting to seriously dislike that Sandman pic. The pic was cool the first time but, as with anything, oversaturation breeds contempt.
  12. Is he really needed when Floyd comes back?
  13. She sang and danced in Naked Gun 33 1/3.
  14. I wonder if any of the mediots asked them about it after the game. I'll look around.
  15. Reading body language is a tricky business, and probably leads to incorrect assumptions more often than not, but he was just standing there with his hands on his knees every pitch. Looked like he never even considered going.
  16. For posterity: Valentin's home run went pretty much to dead center field.
  17. martin wrote: i don't understand why beltran doesnt steal there. it seems like it the perfect storm of pro-steal factors. high-percentage base stealer, incredible need to avoid the double play, as well as putting the all-important game extending tying run in scoring position. Me too.
  18. Reyes 4 Valentin 3 Wright 0.75 Soler 0.75 Heilman 0.5 Oliver 0.5 Bell 0.5
  19. A cycle is still cool.
  20. Frayed Knot wrote: - because 1st base is always the toughest competition - because he played mostly in Canada - and because voting is a flawed process I don't buy the second two reasons just because in picking reserves, hopefully, the managers wouldn't be swayed by where the player played or the votes of the fans.
  21. Mr. Zero wrote: Wondering if I've missed something, but how has Carlos Delgado only been an all-star twice? Is he a second half kind of guy? First base has a lot of sluggers usually. Are you sure it's not that he's only been voted by the fans twice? That would make more sense to me.
  22. Frayed Knot wrote:Can I see the list?* Yes, but then we'd have to kill you.Actually ... there are two threads in this forum which contain links to the list; one in alphabetical order, one in numeric order.Where'd the alphabetical one go?
  23. NOTE: I'm not saying Milledge said anything bad. I spun this question from the Lastings Milledge thread where a couple of posters said something along the lines of that they'd rather Lastings learn some cliches and just shut up when asked if he would rather stay in the bigs. I'm paraphrasing there obviously.
