We passed and went with a photo supplied by The Sporting News. How about that. Thats where I got it from alright, Corbis stock photos. They are pretty liberal with web usage of their images. Go figure.

  4. All these things said about Mookie pretty much echo my sentiments. Mookie was many things to many Met fans. #1, Mr Met, and just a great guy. And lemme add that if it wasnt for him during the early 80's (after the horrible late 70's) the Mets may have lost me as a fan ( if that was indeed ever possible). I find it hard to say now, after sticking with the team thru thick and thin, but I have to admit after 78,79, & 80 my Met fan feelings were hanging by a string. I still loved those teams, but I was a very fickle and frustrated fan. Mookie pulled me back in just by being Mookie. His play and exuberance put the smile back on my game face.
  5. ="metirish"]Sorry Zvon that link does not seem to work, Google Beatles at Shea and you will come accross a link for a rock station, that's it..meanwhile I found a great pic... Ill do that. Great clear color pic! Never saw that one. Maybe the 66 show tho, cuzza the cloths. Still, that goes right into my Beatle file, thnx.
  6. I pretty much gave up on getting the two to sign that mag(tho i still would like to). I figure this completes the collection.
  7. Kranepool started signing the sweet spot there, that I was reserving for Seaver and Ryan. My brother stopped him. Thats another one of those funny Met stories of mine, lol.
  8. metirish wrote: Keep it, maybe and I have no idea you get $1000, so what?,that you would spend the mag you will have forever. I cant see me ever selling it or any of my Met stuff. Thats one of my problems. I dont sell stuff. Im a pack rat.
  9. metirish wrote: here is a link to that day... http://www.therockradio.com/2005/08/flashback-beatles-rock-shea-stadium.html> Link dont work 4 me. Damn, i was lookin 4ward to that.
  10. ="metirish"]A signed 1986 team jersey..bidding starts at $660 This would be well worth it I think. Thats smart lookin. I got this LIFE mag and had it signed by all the 69 Mets cept Seaver and Ryan who didnt make the show. (I do have a bat signed by just them alone.) How much is something like that worth? Would anyone know? of course to me, its priceless.
  11. ="Bret Sabermetric"] Get rid of this stupidity, and you'll resolve the entire "numbers" scam that wrecks our purely aesthetic appreciation of the game of baseball. I agree with this 100%. And as far as some of the lineups displayed between this and my last post here, ARE YOU PEOPLE INSANE!?!
  12. ="metirish"] KOOL! love that cover!
