His tape measure shot over the leftfield wall out at Shea which is still sailing as we speak over the bullpen wall and yet still going and going and gone right over the yellow school bus parked in the Shea Stadium parking lot and bouncing and bouncing some more till a final roll as the thunder still echoes to a crescendo amidst the misty cool night fall air that dusts Shea Stadium so many seasons ago. Only Darryl Strawberry could muster as much more as XAVIER THE X-MAN NADY could but the sudden quickness, the torrid ascent of a simple baseball crushed into the heavens could never be matched. At least Strawberry had the Shea Stadium scoreboard to bounce off here and there but to me XAVIER THE X-MAN's prolific shot is still sailing forever in my dreams and forever in New York Mets folklore. That Xavier Nady home run almost ALMOST matched a Dwight Gooden fastball in Doc's prime.--- Michelle fantasic quote. Im gettin to really like lo Duca batting second. He doubles in Reyes.
  2. ="Edgy DC"]Greater New York covered in slime leftover from You Can't Do That on Television. Film at 11. lmao- theres some leftover? I thought they used it all on Depp.
  3. Reyes: 1.2 Woodward: 1.4 Beltran: 1 Delgado: 1.4 Wright: 1.4 Floyd: 1 Zambrano: 1.3 Oliver: 1 Sanchez: .3
  4. I dont. And as far as all this brewHaHa surrounding his steroid usage, I think people concerned about HR records are only thinking in terms of Aarons (a black man) big #1 record, because it was pretty much a given that he was gonna pass the Babe before there were any repercussions over the current controversy that surrounds him. He's not swingin well but he's still gonna pass the Babe this season.
  5. Reyes: .5 Beltran: 1.5 Delgado: 1 Wright: 1 Floyd: .5 Martinez: 4.5 Heilman: .5 Wagner: .5
  6. Reyes: 1.5 LoDuca: 1.5 Beltran: 1.5 Delgado: .3 Wright: .4 Heilman: .3 Bannister: 4.5

  8. ......thats all well and good but that aint da major leagues Tomoaki's playing in there.
  9. THIS IS EXCELLENT! damn-I havent seen the RBI baseball looking graphics for a looooong time.
  10. Nymr83 wrote: ="Zvon"] get this- they say here In South Jersey I fall under the Washington Nationals market. Even tho they are hundreds of miles away (Phil & NY are closer), Comcasts feed is out of Delaware and they black it out from the source. They say its just an unfortunate flukey thing. they call it a "fluke," i call it justifiable homicide when you kill whoever made that decision. I agree. Looks like the WPIX games are gonna be blacked out too. They werent last year. Todays was. Im gonna try to find out the reason as to why, but Im sure Im not going to like it.
  11. lol--that looks kool. Congrads cooby! ^Z bows to the queen of the CPF*
  12. Turns out I was blacked out by ESPN for the opening day game and Perdos debut for- get this- they say here In South Jersey I fall under the Washington Nationals market. Even tho they are hundreds of miles away (Phil & NY are closer), Comcasts feed is out of Delaware and they black it out from the source. They say its just an unfortunate flukey thing. Fargin bastages---thats rediculous. Could be worse tho- I only will lose games with the Nats. I dont see ESPN airing many Nat games as the season gets deep..
  13. GYC wrote: Game postponed until July 8th. JULY 8TH! Why couldnt they play 2 on Sunday? Cripes----------- Okay, I know the answer-greed. (Phils are gonna play 2 tomorrow)
  14. I finally found time to read that blog. It was poignant in many ways. I have so many Shea memories. Well, they cant rip them down.
  15. Reyes: 2.5 Wright: 2 Delgado: .5 Nady: .5 Trachsel: 3.5 Bradford: .33 Oliver: .33
  16. Id have to pick Jones. All that experience during pennant races..... NY media wouldnt phase him, playin at Shea wouldnt phase him, .... nothing bothers the guy. Taking nothing away from Beltran but Jones probly wouldnt miss a step wherever he goes.
  17. Nice 9th by Oliver. Mets win YAY!
  18. I like Jacobs goin yard, as long as we win big like we are. Hope he hits another solo shot Just got caught up on all the scorin and Wright YAY! Reyes YAY! RBIs from Beltran & Delgado YAY! I guess you got to give Julio the ball here, with this big lead, for a chance to rebuild his confidence. Dont know if loadin the bases for Cabrera will actually do that tho. 8 run lead or not- hope JJs on a short leash this time.
  19. STREAK OVAH!
  20. Hernandez's catch was great, especially that lil extra push off he took at the last second to reach it. Full extension. Excellent! But Wrights catch was reaching over his shoulder and knowing that he could only catch it with his bare hand, sticking out his arm and doing it. Its hard to catch a spinning baseball with two bare hands, no less one. Wright wins. *CPF'rs start throwning tomatos at Z*
  21. Ouch! This one hurt. I guess Wags will have his share if blows, but spoilin Bannisters debut bites.
  22. Did anyone see this show Bonds On Bonds? Quite a great PR job, and some interesting insight into the man....... and I bet he helped his current image a bit. He did a lil cryin in his beer, ....but still didnt admit to anything. He still didnt fess up.
  23. For the record, I thought that was a pretty awsum deek he pulled there on that play at the plate. I didnt realize that the 1st base ump had to come in to make that call till I read it in todays paper.
  24. Can I amend mine before Wednesday night?
