  2. Awwwww Beltran is hit by Wrights grounder! He's out. Looked like a DP ball tho---so..... Delgado and Wright on 1st and 2nd--- and are stranded there as Chavez grounds out.
  3. The Big O wrote: Crazy pitch counts here. Both Lowe & Dro are in the mid-60s after 3. I thought this game was gonna be rediculously fast. Like over before midnight, with those 2 pitching. Beltran didnt show any signs of bein hurt on that double by Martin. Or on the pop by Lowe. We certainly dont need to lose two outfielders in one night. After 4 tied 2-2. Each team has 4 hits-Pedro had 5 strikeouts. LETS GET SOME RUNS FOR PEDRO GUYS!
  4. Looks like he turned his ankle pretty bad running to 3rd. OUCH! Chavez in for Floyd.
  5. Back to back singles by Wright and Cliffy to lead off the 2nd and-- Valentin doubles in Wright and-- shit--Floyd is hurt.
  6. Nomahhh greets his old teamate Pedro with a 2 run homer. Martinez is givin up alotta gophers this season.
  7. Gwreck wrote: Any word on why Reyes is out? Wrist-day to day.
  8. Great job by Bradford too. He bails out Feliciano and pitches a perfect 9th for the save. Im really surprised Wags wasnt used. Mets start the road t rip on a good note. Soler gets the win!
  9. Great job by Soler. 7 innings 1 run 7 strikeouts. Feliciano will take over.
  10. Edgy DC wrote: Scully hasn't been well-briefed. He thinks Cliff's low batting average is from a deep current slump. He thinks Julio is still in the Met pen. ...he could be getting senile.
  11. Nice play by Reyes and Soler has 7 Ks in 7 innings.
  12. ="Edgy DC"]Wow, perfect throw with no extra movement by the catcher and Beltran steals it anyhow. And he looks to steal third too, but thinks better of it. Beltran does that alot. Whats the point of takin 3rd in that situation? A shutout would have been nice for Soler, but Ill settle for a win for the guy.
  13. Gwreck wrote: Apparently the ump was walking towards Reyes as they exchanged words after the K. Not a good idea. This is why people hate umpires. Plant your ass back behind the plate Vanover. Exactly! Why should that ump follow Reyes? I dont care what Jose is sayin--if he's not in the umps face he should not recognize it. Simple as that. And Reyes, dont get tossed over a pitch that may have been a strike after that pitch you tried to swing at earlier in the at bat :\
  14. The rook comes thru with an RBI single. He runs straight to 1st and doesnt slap anyone five.
  15. Nymr83 wrote: Soler k's Lofton looking with 2 om to end the threat, it remains 3-0 Mets. And Lofton was not a happy camper. Cliffy hits! Delgado and Floyd swingin a good bat- this would be a good time for them to step up and carry a bit of the load for awhile. And I like our new second baseman-he singles Cliff to third.
  16. Soler with his 1st hit in the big leagues!
  17. Edgy DC wrote: Drew caught it, but it's cool to see Wright go the other way with power again. ...and its kool to see Delgado swinging a good bat again. 2 for 2 with the single that inning.
  18. ="Edgy DC"] Rick =red]Monday Nice K by Soler to end the inning after given up a double to Martin down the third base line.
  19. Did I miss a kaBoom? Woe is me Wow-I missed TWO! Well, ya cant post em all. Kool-we get to see how Soler works with an early lead.

This is sad news. Wasnt the greatest of umps, but as good or better than many I see umping these days.
  23. Getting Vidro would be phenominal.
  24. SI Metman wrote: Nah, the Mets play of the year is the diving catch Endy Chavez made against the Pirates where he came out of nowhere and went hydroplaning across the outfield grass. I agree. The 3 best catches in the outfield Ive seen this year so far were by, in number order: 1) Aaron Rowland 2) Endy Chavez 3) Grady Sizemore I saw a stolen homer by a centerfielder just this past week, in left center on the move, that rates right up there. Not sure who it was. I wanna say Patterson.
  25. Let the assholes talk. They have alotta air-time to fill. ]* Anyone see Carl Crawford's injury the other day? He slid home trying to score but was called out as the catcher blocked (or didn't) the plate. So Crawford jumps up to argue but lands awkwardly and crumples to the ground holding his knee. He stayed in the game briefly but had to leave an inning later. Kinda cut his whole argument thing short too. I saw that. Looks like he hyperextended his knee. Shame, really. And very foolish. ]* When 'Inside the Actors Studio' is interviewing Tim Allen I think it's a sign that maybe it's time to re-consider the mission statement of the whole project. They have made this classic show a joke anymore. Sold out. ]* Around 6PM today I briefly saw some orange-ish ball in the sky which was giving off both light and heat. Any ideas what that could be? The Mets flyin to the west coast to face LA.
