  1. Mr Franco does alotta jawing with the umps. He better be careful---it would be embarrassing if his false teeth popped out of his mouth.
  2. Beltran swings at the only pitch that would result in a non productive at bat-hi heat for an infield pop out. BUT WRIGHT DOES IT RIGHT! Doubles in two!
  3. OlerudOwned wrote: I already like today's Mets more than yesterday's. ..............yesterday is dead to me.
  4. LoDuke does his thang- doubles Reyes to third. Lets Go Mets--plate em all.
  5. Edgy DC wrote: Having a bench of two unavailable guys and whoever isn't playing second is sort of awkward. Maybe we should have sent for some Virginian help for this series. tru--this series did not set up well in any instance, from bench to mound. But its just one a those interleague bullshit games-who cares-right? Reyes leads off with a single to right.
  6. I went out on a limb with Trachsel earlier this season (i wont repeat it now), and Im climbin back out on it now---uh-oh--it feels kinda shakey--but Im out there. Todays the day.
  7. Edgy DC wrote: I dial up Mets.com every day and they show the highlight from the previous day's game. A modest bases-empty single to left by Chavez greeted me today. I saw that highlight, and to me it looked like with a lil agressiveness that bloop/drive couldnt have been snagged.
  8. Nady-yay! Is Floyd not fresh enough to go on a day game after a night game? Or is that just an old man thing......
  9. ScarletKnight41 wrote: It's kind of like the movie Johnny Dangerously, when one brother prosecutes the other and convicts him. When asked for a comment, Ma Kelly matter-of-factly answers that she was, "Happy for Tommy, sad for Johnny." classic (highly underated) comedy. The critics were fargin bastages.
  10. ="A Boy Named Seo"]That's nice, Zvon, but not sensational enough. Headline of tomorrow's fictional LA Post: Brother F**ker! Jared Up, Jeff Out Of Work, Mom Heartbroken! LMAO---awwwww
  11. cleonjones11 wrote: David Wright looks lost or scared..Reyes too..oh thats right we're playing the American League.... Lost or scared? How about just a funk because they have contibuted and won so may ballgames for the Mets they are just taking a breather to reminise before they recharge and start doing it again.
  12. cleonjones11 wrote: Does Jose Valentin think he can run...He's been nailed stealing or stretching 5 times lately smiling all the while Delgado and Loduca are not second half players...Never cared for Trachsel Time to put Dontrelle Willis on the board...Milledge and Nady maybe they might want Humber too... As long as the Marlins heads are above water, Willis aint goin anywhere. And I would rather he did for the sake of my fantasy teams. Delgado and Loduca are not pigeoned holed like that. Trachsel says he never cared for you much either. Valentin may have had some baserunning blunders recently, but he wasnt smiling. Thats a 24/7 grimace he wears. I always enjoy hearing your input Cleon. Especially when it sensable enough to respond to.
  13. Frayed Knot wrote: The Angels recalled RHP Jered Weaver from AAA today. To make room for him on the roster, they designated for assignment ... his older brother Jeff I really thought the sensativity in making such a move was the reason it wasnt done in the 1st place. They gave the older bro a shot to redeem himself and his position. Im sure the brother factor played into their rediculous line of thinking. Maybe they could have ended up with both bros in the rotation It was a nice humble thing to do, especially in this day of business is business, but all these pros have to know you either do it or they get someone else who can, and Jared was doing it like an ace. Jeff was not getting it done--not by a longshot. Now maybe the Angels will completely pull their heads out of there asses and do something in terms of getting rid of Kennedy and call Kendricks up. For awhile there, I really thought LAA was looking for ways not to win.
  14. Just a note for a distraction so youz can all laugh in my general direction for some comic relief. Byrd pitched a great game tonight. Im already counting his win as mine. Up 7-0 in the 8th-- and the Red come back to take the game in the last two frames capped by an Adam (whiffking) Dunn walk off grand salami in the 9th. It could have been worse-Byrd was removed from the game earlier, but---AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW - that just sucked anal fudge.
  15. Nymr83 wrote: Val hasn't checked it since before the season started, Val hasnt shown any activity whatsoever sinc Feb 6th. What day was the draft? Its possible that that may have been the last time he looked in. This perplexes me too, because if a manager decides to draft a team, and the let it run the length of the season with no maintence, this is certainly an option. Hes got his horses--let em run.let fate take its course. If you remember, he not only reached 1st place for a time but also rode up there for awhile, not too long ago. I do see Val logged in on yahoo messenger from time to time, so i assume this means he still spends time at his PC. It simply would be nice if he checked in so we know he is playing and this is the way he want to conduct his team. And i have no problem with that. if not-his team can be dispanded-I have seen this done in another league. I cant recall the specifics, but i do believe the team manager dispanding had to be involved and the team could not be simply taken out from under him. I will look into this--and my recollections may be off or wrong--but i do know I have been involved with a similar situation that was resolved by the splitting up of a team, and a draft for that teams players.
  16. Frayed Knot wrote: Obviously, getting one dinky hit isn't going to get the job done no matter what else you do ... but we've just been getting killed by the running game lately; both ours AND theirs. - Endy getting picked off - Franco getting picked off last night - the strikeout/throw DP with Valentin (who was out by about 10 yards) - Reyes getting tossed at home on a play which he should never have been sent - Reyes also got picked off last week and caught stealing as well (pitch out) - Meanwhile Bernie Williams is 65 years old and steals one virtually uncontested, as did Coco yesterday and it's happening with LoDuke AND Castro Giving away outs, and giving up extra bases Your summaries are always spot on FK. Bing bang boom zing zang zooie.
  17. and some Peter Gabriel too! Ahhhh--this makes the whole night worth it. Thx guys. After a game like this i needed that. And to think I stayed home just to keep tabs on this game. Worst decision ever! Ok, maybe just this week.
  18. I love that song. They always closed with that(Utopia). :)
  19. well, we got the 8th, 9th slots and then top a the order for the 9th. Dare i throw this out there?:::::
  20. Edgy DC wrote: Reyes screwed up. He caught a pop in fair ground by the foul line. And forgot to dive into the stands. lol-whats the opposite of a show boat?
  21. Rockin' Doc wrote: This team needs to break out the whoopin' sticks and kick some ass. agreed--at least look alive.
  22. Edgy DC wrote: We have a quality start in captivity. Yea--I guess there's that.
  23. Endy ends a possible rally by getting upended at first. Picked off. dayum.
  24. well--Endy ends that! *Z cleans his hands of the situation
