  1. Im glad he got that wicked liner hit back at him today. Cuz if he was ever gonna chomp down and accidently bite his tongue off, he would have there. Now thats one less thing I have to worry about.
  2. After today Im startin to think that he's for real. Fact: that was his 9th career grand slam. Thats alotta slams man. I went lookin for the pleasent surprise thread and bumped this instead. But lemme say here I change my vote for that to Valentine. Im sold.
  3. put it in the books! 17-3. mmmmm--i love fish sticks.
  4. Heilman on to close it. We needed a laffer like this after Willis's granny yesterday and todays first game. A very welcomed All Star about to come up. And boy can we use a break, or what?
  5. I was really hopin to see Owens pitch today too, as well as Pelfrey. Damn broadcast bullshit these days.
  6. That bum Valentin struck out Its 16-3. Bet Pedro wishes heda got run support like this (even split up among 3 or 4 games)early on this season.
  7. Back to back ground rule doubles for Wright and Floyd--this is sick.lol.
  8. LoDuke singles in 2 more-- pile em on boys. 13-3
  9. Nady will hit for Pelfrey in the 5th. Thatll do. Mets have loaded the bases again---no outs. crips-this is soooooo opposite the 1st game. But datsAbaseball!
  10. Just when I think Floyds lookin worn and washed up he gets a hold a one. And when he does it looks so sweet.
  11. That inning was nice. Hope that buys the rook 6 innings. 89 pitches thru 4. edit: CBS says 89--they are not always right tho. As a matter of fact its amazing how many times they are wrong. What do ya want 4 free?
  12. Another not so smooth inning from Pelfrey. A wild pitch in there. Three walks... Up to 70 pitches in 2.2 innings. Willies gonna let him try and pitch out of this. It would be nice if the rook was in long enough to get a win out of this. Whew----induces the pop up and gets out of it. 13. Hillbilly wrote: When I was 12, i came up in a game 4 times with the baseloaded. K, BB, HR, Double. I drove in 7 in our 9-8 win and got yelled at after the game for overunning second (I was heading for third on the double but Micheal Sacks was stanging there - he should have scored!). I got back (Thanks to Micheal's break towards home that drew a throw), but still got the 'you got to keep your head in the game' talk. But anyway, I think Valentin's HR and triple are a bit more of a big deal since it's in the Majors. I dunno Hillbilly-its all relative. Nice story.
  14. Nolascos ERA for the day- 48.60 Whip- 5.40. The info just happens to be handy. Uggla reached on a double. You need more runs Pelfrey? Cuz the boys will get em for ya if ya do. I would think Valentin alone probly has another 7RBIs in him. Settle in rook. This game is your game.
  15. what an excellent at bat that was! That was on the 9th pitch of the at-bat according to CBS sportsline. Thats workin Nabisco till he cracks like a cheap chip. (Nolasco's gonna kill my fantasy baseball day, but I will feel no pain)
  16. GET OUT! Val triples the bases clear!!!!
  17. Frayed Knot wrote: It was essentially the "safety" squeeze; runners NOT running and getting the bunt down got the a run. Not a bad play when you're behind early like that against an unfamiliar pitcher in tough sunlight time; just chip away at the lead. thnx FK. stinkin fish
  18. Nabisco (ok, Nolasco) hits LoDuca. Stinkin fish. Beltran follows with a single, Wright with a walk. Its Cliffy with the bases juiced. And he draws a walk! lol. On 4 pitches. Valentin again with bases loaded..... (drumroll please)
  19. I still dont know if that was a straight squeeze or what, but it reads like one. lol. They would try to rattle the rook with something like that, the stinkin fish that they are. Yea-I read something about worryin about this team (last nites IGT, I think) and I have to agree--this is one team I would worry about ahead of the Phils and the Braves from here on out. From now on they will be the stinkin fish to me.
  20. Wright with the error gives one back. Settle down Pelfrey. make your pitches. Crap.....was that a safety squeeze? edit-CBS said Chavez at 1st--this is why reading the game sucks.
  21. ="TransMonk"]Chavez/LoDuca way better than Valentin/Woodward. I hope Willie takes note of this. Beltran walks. Wright, yes FK--I have noticed this, Ks. Floyd singles and Val with-- THE GRAND KABOOM!
  22. And loDuke singles him home! Hey! Just like old times.
