  2. I agree with all of ya---lets get in thier bullpen ASAP. Nomar with the infield hit--but---looks like he came up lame. Wouldnt mind seein him head to the showers as well.
  3. Excellent at bat by Reyes---makes Kuo throw lots. His groundout draws 1st blood. 1-0 Mets. And LoDuke with the ground rule double! He spanked that ball.
  4. Edgy DC wrote: I'm Chavez. I rock. yep--perfect bunt.
  5. Hillbilly wrote: If Glavine starts throwing high strikes; we're in trouble. If Glavines zone can be extended to outside the black on the corners it would be like watching Tommy pitch in his prime. I like that last half---makin this Kuo kid throw a good number of pitches.
  6. vtmet wrote: ="Zvon"]DAMN! We better get that high strike just called there on Reyes as well.............. Kind of funny how the "respect the batter" thing plays out...That pitch was high and inside, called a strike on Reyes...and then Beltran gets one right down the middle, belt high & it's called a ball... You see that call 3rd strike on Wright? Cripes--this plate ump-----he better be just as awful for Tommy-G.
  7. ="metirish"] that's fucking funny... So's that Lasorda commercial... ] Lasorda: "Whats his team?" Girl: "The Cubbies." Lasorda(with a look of digust): "....Ewwww." lol.
  8. DAMN! We better get that high strike just called there on Reyes as well..............
  9. What a play by Wright! Awsum. Hey, I guess that Met fan babe is like the new sign guy. They've shown her twice already. No logoface tonight.
  10. What kinda shit is Little pullin? Disrupting Glavines pitching........
  11. ="Elster88"]A cute little spot on the 1986 team on Fox. That was nice. Game time..... !

Even right after the game I saw a spot where they announced the game score and the only other comment they made was on what A-Rod did. Anymore it just makes me laugh.
  14. Frayed Knot wrote: ="Edgy DC"]I don't think Mike Piazza is a Friar next year. IIRC, he was signed to a reasonable amount this year but a big ($8mil?) option for next; one that would all but assure the Pads would NOT pick up. He'd be wise just to go AL and DH. Nice play at the plate there but these guys can only get one out at the plate at a time. sheesh
  15. whoops. theres an echo in here whoops. theres an echo in here
  16. Frayed Knot wrote: I'm surprised too although the backup Josh Bard - the guy traded to and then re-acquired from the BoSox - has had himself a good year. Just heard Pads manager Bochy wanted to stack the lineup with lefties.

  18. Edgy DC wrote: Injury delay? 'Splain. JohnnyD fouled one off his knee. Looked painful. He shook it off after afew. Game over---great baseball and this series is tied.
  19. Frayed Knot wrote: Because there was no room at the Inn? lol. He better have a better excuse than that. I cant believe he's sitting.
  20. Frayed Knot wrote: Piazza sitting Has anybody heard why he's on the bench?
  21. Great game here.
  22. I would have thought doing it for the post season would actually be a bit easier than it was for the whole season - but if it takes a software change I can understand your reluctance Yancy. Yanc, I hope you dont think that your SMPOTG isnt both enjoyed and appreciated. Its actually one of the reasons this is the best board for a Met fan to hang his Met hat at.
  23. Gwreck wrote: I'm sometimes just a little bit sad that because of my focus on the Mets games, I feel as if I have an inadequate idea of what's happening in the other 3 series. But then I remind myself that I waited 6 years for this, and many more prior to 1999. Every year I watch as much post season baseball as I can catch , Mets or no (never miss a World Series game no matter what)-----but I was so focused on this afternoons game I forgot the Twins/A's were even playing earlier, and missed that game... so I hear what your sayin. Cripes, its almost 1 am. (im just starting to be able to relax, lol)
  24. There he is nym83 ^ If they changed the Met game time tomorrow night and gave the Skanks the prime time slot I would have gone postal. Ballistically postal.
