  1. ESPN just showed clips of all the instances 2 runners were thrown out at home in video recorded MLB history. 7 or 8 of em. Willie Randolf was a number 2 of 2 out-at-the-plate-guys while playing for the Mets.(the play was broken up by a throw to second and blotched rundown in between) ha...still- how bout that?
  2. ="metirish"] Season ticket holder and avid Mets fan, Cheryl Baren of Jericho, Long Island wears her game face and waves a poster to cheer her team during batting practice. New York Mets vs.the Los Angeles Dodgers at Shea Stadium, Game She's all yours WOW! I did not really expect an answer , no less the whole scoop. Is she hitched? If so, does she play around? I dont mean sex or anything like that--Id settle for tossing the ball around with her.

Lol--I did forget how nerve wracking Met post season games can be. I was kinda surprised that at times I was sooo nervous. This is the kinda nervousness I dont mind tho--its an exciting type of nervousness. My Mets are giving me some extra games to enjoy this season. As long as they can stay alive im gonna enjoy every second and not even complain if things should fall short of my hopes and dreams. Cuz we all know we still have an uphill climb with a depleted pitching staff. But I believe--I still believe.
  4. Last two game one cards. (if CPF'rs would rather I put these in a seperate thread, lemme know--I know these could effect some load times)
  5. ="Gwreck"]Where did Delgado's homer land, anyway? I watched the replay on ESPN and on Mets.com and I can't see it. I missed it at the game because, well, we were going nuts. It was announced as 470 feet...did it clear the batter's eye? I don't think I've ever seen anyone do that. Good question--I heard the 470 feet thing but never did see the ball come down, or hit off the batters eye. ="Lundy"] Just to illustrate how busy and intense the game was. While walking to Penn Station, I noticed that my shoelace was untied. I was running late for the train, so I said, screw it, I'll tie it on the train. Train was too crowded--had to stand. Boardwalk over to Shea was packed as well. Waiting to pass through Gate E packed as well. Got to my seat right at first pitch and never thought about my shoelace. It was finally tied--right after I got off the train at Little Neck after the game. ...you know what that means, dont ya Lundy....... You have to untie your shoe before tomorrow nights game and leave it untied all game. Dont question it. Someone find out who this babe is---I think its love at first sight.
  6. KC wrote: It barely freakin' rained, the Mets played a whole playoff game in the same conditions in 2000. I want a complete investigation into the motives for the tarp not being taken off at least once tonight. I agree. And while your at it I wanna know why the Skanks get the prime time game two nights in a row. Im betting the answers will be the same. (Tho postponing the game to an afternoon game tomorrow dont exactly play into my nefarious suspicions.)

Johnny Dickshot wrote: Now, I don;t think the Dodgers did that purposefully, but ask yourself -- which of you who'd really watchged this team this year would have been surprised if not one but 2 runs scored on that play? I wouldnta. Good play Paul. Good point JD. To amend my earlier comments: Drew didnt slow down at all rounding third---from what I see in the replays. I never even saw exactly where the third base coach was, or what he was doing as Drew rounded third- but J.D. was clearly running with his head down (he may have picked up the Kent wave in as him being waved in - they were running pretty close) and wasnt concerned with the third base coach at all. I still think two factors make that play what it became: 1) Kents bad read on the fly and setting to tag- Green was nowhere near that ball. 2) Once Drew was in the position where LoDucas standing there in front of him with the ball, his head first slide was the worst way to approach the plate. Cletes up---or shoulder his way in and try to bowl over Paul---anything was better than head first sliding into the tag. The slide slowed him down and made it an easy tag.

  9. metirish wrote: ] Is that Arizonas Burns on ESPN? Whoever that is, I like his comments. He's good. yes I thought that was him,Vernon Wells is pretty good too. Is that a fake nose Wells is wearing? Dont they usually have fake glasses attached to em?
  10. metirish wrote: On Baseball Tonight Tin Kurkin is saying that Drew had his head down and ran through the stop sign....and it shows Donnelly certainly was not waving him home. They also said Kent did the right thing going back to tag---but i dunno--- No way was Green gonna reach that ball- But they have a point that if Kent is out at the plate, thats just one out. The second out by Drew was the big one as far as the Mets getting out of a really big inning by the Dodgers goes. Is that Arizonas Burns on ESPN? Whoever that is, I like his comments. He's good.
  11. Frayed Knot wrote: HORRIBLE decision by Torii on that I-t-P-HR Diving for a ball while you're tied and there are two outs w/a runner on is bad enough, but he never got close to that ball. That's an almost shocking play by the guy who's been the best CF in the business the last few years. And did you see Kotsay as he reached home? His shirt was pulled out in about 3 different directions and was flapping in the breeze as he ran. Looked more like he had been in a fight than someone who just ran around the bases. Yea-Kotsay beat himself up rounding the bases. That was a very unfortunate play by Hunter. He wasnt even running to where the ball was coming down. Kotsay on the post game said he thought the ball knuckled away from him--drifting to the right. But, as you said, bottom line- Hunter was nowhere near that ball. I think I heard earlier today that the last time there was an inside the park homer in the post season, it was the A's vs. the Twins and it was a ball that, also, got by Hunter. I like the way the Twins fans gave Hunter an ovation (for the effort, I guess) when he batted after the play. Those are real team fans.
  12. There were afew boo-boos on that play. Kent going back to tag? Even we could see from TV that Green wasnt gonna get to that ball. If Kents half way he scores easily. Drew slowed a bit around third? And his head first slide into home slows him down. If he tries to barrell over LoDuca, I dont know that LoDuke holds on to that ball. Cuz he was just as surprized as you and I that Drew was coming in. You cant lay it all on the coach--he HAD to try to plate Kent. And did he actually wave Drew in? (Im sure Ill see plenty of replays and---maybe he did- then I may amend this.)
  13. Rain delay here for game 2, tho i dont see any rain yet. They must be expecting a BAD storm cuz I just saw the ground crew actually nailing down the tarp around the plate.
  14. Congrads to David Wright! Great layout in the lead post Yancy. UdAmAn! Thnx for this. You deserve a case of Schaefer. (does beer get better with age?)

  16. Did Phillips call Beltran Delgado? Wags with the big K--2 out.
  17. Awww-that dont hit his back we got him at third---damn.
  18. Should I?.....should I? Yea-
  19. CarlosD cant be perfect in his 1st post season game--strikes out. But he has delivered, so i aint complainin'
  20. Big walk by Beltran!-- bases intoxicated for Delgado......
