  1. UGH! Verlander error. This is rediculous. Am I watching the little league World Series by mistake?
  2. That Tidrow is excellent. He looks so much like Mattingly from the 80's there. But I suppose he always kinda did look like the Mattman. Val, can't you register at the GettyImage site and then have the privilage of viewing (and saving) the images without the watermark? I know thats how it works at Corbis (an image site) , and there to register is free. At Corbis they have one nice image of Tidrow, but he's a Cubbie.
  3. Crap. Cards go up 3-1. Tiggers cant take 3 in a row---- That would be really kool if they did tho. Looks like this show is all but over.
  4. Grandersons gotta make up for playing slip and slide in center.

  6. ....nobody out there has heard of good ol Officer Joe Bolton? He was on every freakin afternoon when I got home from school. Way back in the days of black and white TV. FK? Mole? Your a senior members. No recollection of Officer Joe?
  7. I dont know who that guy behind Karl looks like but the dude 2 over from our left is certainly Jon Lovitz.

  10. The similarities were so similar I had to make that Agee card. The pic is from game 3 of the 69 World Series.
  11. He used to introduce the Three Stooges episodes on WPIX 11.
  12. this was easy. Fatass gets my vote. If I had my way he gets plunked at least once in every game of the opening series in 2007. Looking for pics for the baseball cards I came across these two pics, which made me say to myself: "Just what the fuck do you think your looking at Fatass."
  13. Edgy DC wrote: Yeah, that's Jack. What's the white arrow about? Oh, thats Officer Joe Bolton.
  14. Lotta 60's celebs at that game. green= Jack Lord (sans Danno-whos gonna book 'em?) =cyan]light blue= Niel Armstrong (just back from the moon) =yellow]yellow= Glenn Cambell ( when he was just a lineman) =violet]purple= Maxwell Smart (I asked you not to tell me that) =blue]blue= Kramer (as a kid-hasnt changed much) =red]red= James Earl Ray (on the run)

  17. I saw this article yesterday about Acta, and Id like to share it or link it but now I cant find the thing. I saw it yesterday but it was first posted soon after the Lidle accident. Turned out that the afternoon of game one (which was rained out, ayk), Manny got a call from his landlord telling him the building he lived in was hit by a plane. At this point, no one knew who the pilot or passenger was, or whose plane it was, for that matter. Most talk was about the possibility of terrorists. The article was about how things unfolded as the afternoon progressed- finding out the plane was owned by Lidle,...and then that he was in it. It was a very sobering piece. Comparing how baseball is just a little game we play compared to the harsh reality of what occured that afternoon. Had some really interesting facts that I wasnt aware of. A Mets team doctor has offices right across the street from the building. Izzy Isringhausen lived there when he played for the Mets. Acta returned there shortly after the accident and promptly turned in his keys and moved out. Said he was planning to move out anyway. It was a very good article. Hope I find it, cuz this post does not do it justice.
