  1. Another ball off the top of a wall! This is fuckin great baseball folks. Gill-ass-pie again! Drives in Pence. 4-2 Giants.
  2. Time to start pulling my Baez's. U see that play? And those replays of his tags during the season? I don't think I've ever seen anyone get that tag down so fast, no matter where the ball is thrown. That's pretty stupendous.
  3. Wow. Murph ties it. Jeeze. He is sick in the post. Just sick.
  4. Great faceoff between Clayton & Bryce. UGH, a walk. Bases loaded. 2 outs, 7th. 5-2 I joke about robo umps but I don't really want to know if that curve ball (not the ball 4-like 3 pitches b4- called a ball) was actually, technically, literally, & mechanically a strike. It could have gone both ways from what I saw, and the ump called it one way. I don't mind that, when it's borderline. It's just that umps suck so bad these days that they screw up on obvious balls & strikes. Ouch. Kershaw out, Dodger reliever hits Werth, a run scores. 5-3. Come on LA, hold this for Clayton. Murphy up, bases still all red.
  5. And now for something completely different: A Tim Tebow face-plant. [fimg=500]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CuhfFKgWYAAufgY.jpg:large[/fimg]
  6. Great catch. I've been pulling my Pederson's.
  7. G'bye silly hill! [fimg=500:2y2izpso]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cug1yMkVMAAu5As.jpg[/fimg:2y2izpso]
  8. I never liked that wall in LF where the cartoon cars stick up giving the wall an odd pattern of varying heights. Last night might have been the first time I saw that come into play although I'm not sure if Bryant's game-tying HR would have been more or less catchable had the wall been a standard height straight across. It was a sky-high fly which had to be coming nearly straight down when it hit the high point on top of one of the goofy car cut-outs. Game 4 tonight at 8:30 Had the Cubs won, the Dodger/Nats game (4:00 EDT) would have been moved to the late time-slot - and while you understand MLB and TV's need for prime-time audiences, moving the starting time of the game at what was right around midnight Pacific Time really suxxx for peeps who make plans around the game. I totally agree about the OF wall. Particularly the changes in height to accommodate the advertisements. Very nice from a design standpoint, but such things should not be involved in the field of play. The stuff beyond the wall: beautiful. But the wall itself should be a relatively consistent thing. I can see the shape of a stadium effecting the walls, but not an ad. The business with the time of games today: its nice to know that MLB isn't only screwing over it's fans for TV. They stick it to the players themselves. Niiiice. No extended car roof, I think he makes the catch. 9. Love the cards-the Gsellman at Shea is most awesome. I apologize for falling off with my voting near the end,
  10. Not a photoshop. [fimg=700]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cudx2iGWcAAve7Y.jpg[/fimg] Ha, reminds me of this oldie.
  11. Giants walkoff in 13. Panik hits one...out, I think. The broadcasters didn't seem to think it was important enough to tell us. A HR or a double. Crawford was on 2nd so I guess it really don't matter. I read it was called a homer. Although I think he was stopped from circling the bases by his teammates, like Ventura. I'll have to take a look at that again.
  12. Giants can't cash in. On to the 12th.
  13. 11th inning. SF has a guy in scoring position, 1 out. Things are gettin dicey.
  14. Almora robs Posey of extra bases and probably saved a SF walkoff (Belt was on 1st and took off) with a fantastic diving catch. Doubled up Belt. That's it. The Cubs are going all the way. Hop on board.
  15. It hit the top of an ad on the wall. Juuuuuuuuuuust made it out. [tweet:1zy0ndav] [/tweet:1zy0ndav]
  16. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. Cubs tie it in the 9th. Bryant, 2 run shot.
  17. Jeeze. I thought this one was over. And Maddon's pulling Chapman! Cripes, did that backfire or what? Nice to see him screw up for a change. Just don't suck. Well, that sucked.
  18. Can't those photogs get the fuck out of the way so it's Papi & the fans? Jeeze.
  19. Frayed Knot wrote: As Steve Rushin of Sports Illustrated pointed out in a recent column, if it wasn't for sports we wouldn't know anyone named Mookie. How is that? Frayed Knot wrote: Papi, as the tying run on 2nd, is removed for a pinch-runner in bottom 8th. If they fail to win this game it'll be his final appearance. Yeaaa, that was it for Big Papi. *tips cap. I was hoping they'd tie it there. Indians advance. BoSox dun.
  20. So far, 52% of all runs this postseason are on HRs. As kool as that is it's not as much fun, at least to me, as watching a team work their way around the bases. 4-2 Indians @Fenway. 8th. OOOOO, nice catch by Mookie in right.
  21. Cal, when you make a bad observation and comment, don't try to cover over it with more bad observations and comments. That time Bogaerts did nothing wrong.
  22. I've been pulling Bogaerts rookie cards. I'm gonna start putting them back.
  23. metirish wrote: Oh shit, I never realized I was posting in the Nats thread...... If I had a nickle for every time I did that... With inflation and all shouldn't this saying be updated? If I had a buck fiddy for every time I did that... There's a game going on? I mean to watch these games but I'm not interested enough to know when they are on. I can't find this one on TV.
  24. I never even gave a thought to Wright managing. I like the analogy to Mattingly. No clue if David would make a good manager. He don't just get handed the reigns and not anytime soon, he'll have to do some minor managing. I do love the idea of seeing a wizened white haired Wright leaning on the dugout steps and calculating his next move in 2030. But that's the thing these days. If we run out some shitty teams after he get's the gig he could get fired before his hair gets white, and that would be unacceptable (assuming he's at least an average manager-if not I wouldn't want him ever to manage).
