So far I see no changes in my personal timeline. Staub and Agee could not have appeared together on a 1971 card as teammates in any uniform because they were teammates in 1972 only, as Mets. The restored Mets unis wouldn't work on a 1973 card because by then, Agee was an Astro -- thus the reason why Topps went to the trouble to depict Agee and his teammates as Astros in the first place. (Not that Topps wasn't above issuing a stale card of a player on his former team). Your restored image of Staub and Agee (and Harrelson) in their proper Mets uniforms, would logically work only on a 1972 sideways "In Action" card, and even then, we'd have to assume that the mock Agee '72 IA was a high number late series card, to account for the fact that a 1972 photograph was used on a 1972 card. Good points. The reason I went with the '71 design was because Tommies 71' card was also a sideways type. I wasn't considering the time factor. Something I was reminded of since my last post was that Rusty himself did not have a Topps regular issue baseball card in 1972 and 73. I think it was touched on here as to the reason why (with the kool mock '72 Staub). I thought maybe you were referring to that. I'm on a baseball card making kick (mostly influenced by that wicked kool website CARDS THAT NEVER WERE that a recently came across. I've seen some of that guys work here already) and I do want the ones I create to make sense, so to speak. I'll see if I can put that retouched Agee in a sideways 72 action border or maybe just slide it back in his '73 card border. I hear what you're saying about the reason Topps retouched it but many times, before traded sets, they wouldn't get all caught up on the trades and a player was still pictured on his old team. Agee was a Met for all of the '72 season. That could work. '72 action would be way kooler tho. I just took the 1970 Topps Sporting News World Series cards and redid them with all color photos. I always wished they did those in color. So like the guy from Cards That Never Were I'm going to make my dream cards, but they will be Mets only. I'm just having some fun with this. Grimm is still the king of Mets dream cards.
