  1. Very enjoyable game. Wish it stayed a no-no just for the hellOfIt.
  2. I really like how I could hear Prince yelling while holding on the runner and then hear the guy after the safe slide. They should mic all the players during the game.

  4. Wow, they are getting calls but none that weren't borderline. 17 Ks by the Sox.
  5. Imagine the pressure on this guy. If its a starting pitcher and he blows it, its he himself who loses out on the no-no. This guy is repp'in a bunch of pitchers that would like to achieve this.
  6. Big catch. If they scored more Boston would be more sunken then they must feel now.
  7. Damn. Santa Claus is a Bo-Sox fan.
  8. These have been some good post season games. That's really what I wish for the most. I hope the world series itself isn't anticlimactic.

That's two green cookies with a creamy middle, dontcha think? I love that the Beatles tried to play a stadium with fewer amps than a garage band uses today. They did more than tried. They did it. Twice. Crazy but true stuff. I believe the wall in 69 was closer to this color. Some photos have it looking a little more blueish. I'm telling ya that looks awfully like a primer coat. Or just an awful primer coat.

Like Shea, tho I'll finish the Agee post before I put it up. For those guys the best I can do is what I did on the 68 page. Let's get this over with and put Ryan and Otis on the same '68 rookie card. Now we only have to be reminded of those two trades once.
  11. Dodgers have a big hill to climb now. Damn Cardinals. I like the Cards jersey that says St. Louis. Funny to wear them at home but that's kool.
  12. Holy smokes. Speed gun said 99 but that looked like 199 mph.

Elliott Maddox. I want a red belt like that. My favorite Met memory of Elliott Maddox (actually, it's my only memory) is of him executing a perfect hit and run, hitting the ball through the right side when the second baseman left to cover the base. The next time up, the shortstop covered, and he hit it through the right side. That's great hitting, I thought. This Elliott Maddox is a great hitter. My memory is of him going after a sure homer while playing right at Shea. He cruised back and jumped up on the wall, standing on the middle wood frame of the plexiglass bullpen fence, and reaching up to.... He never had a chance for the ball. The ball sailed over his head and maybe even the bullpen. I just remember thinking how I like that he gave it that extra dramatic flair.

I've created another time paradox. Wait til you see one of my new Agee cards. I have him batting in the 73 World Series. I should have made the site CARDS FROM AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE! That sounds kinda neat and scary too. Thats Rob(ert) Gardner^
  15. Well, if the Redbirds advance I'll root for Beltraan to have a monster series. I rooted for him that series way back when he was an Astro, and I remember thinking how much I wished he was our centerfielder. That average with risp for the post season, that's how they should sell it. That's something else. And a decent sample size now.
  16. Hes losing him. Why open with that awesome pitch and then not feed him junk. BELTRAN RIPS IT INTO THE CORNER! GAME OVEH!!!!!!!!!!
  17. ooo, challenges him! Fastball right over first pitch. DejaDoo.
  18. Yep, this should be over in a minute.
  19. Frayed Knot wrote: Frayed Knot wrote: The bench of Kolten Wong, Daniel Descalso, Shane Robinson, Tony Cruz, and Adron Chambers combined to OPS barely 550 for the season Ok, fess up. Descalso is real, but you made the rest of those guys up, right? Well, Chambers has already PH'd so I couldn't be inventing him. Cruz is the backup catcher so you'll see Jimmy Hoffa in a game before you see him. Shane Robinson is said to exist but so is Nessie up there in Scotland and, in both cases, there's very little proof.
  20. Babe Ruth would have ended it right there.
  21. Wow. If that got by him....he's unreal too. OE: unreal and possibly insane.
  22. Frayed Knot wrote: I was saying "Send Him" as the play was developing so I can't complain about the outcome. Just a damn good throw is all. Ha. I was too because as the center fielder gave way to Beltran, I knew he'd gun him out. I had to see it to believe it though.
