  1. Ugh, nice curve from Strass
  2. Nice at bat by Ike. Very nice. Draws the walk.
  3. Ewwww. Does not pass the opening day test down here. All fuzz, a word here or there. Bummer.

  6. EYjr kicks Harper in the skullcap. Niiiiice. Removed? hmm. I hope he's okay in a 3 or 4 days. LaRoach two run bomb. Gah.
  7. Anyone bet Laggy would get our first hit? Line single to right.

  9. Are we home team tomorrow?
  10. ...well maybe not a great pitch.
  11. Thats bullshit. A great pitch and he gets hit swinging at it.

  13. Mejia hit by the ball on a rug-cutter up the middle. Might have gotten his elbow. He did not look hurt but he was removed from the game.

Me three. I thought they had a pretty healthy fanbase up until the the '94 strike. The Expos were in first place, but no World Series that year. And after that the team was de-constructed. They were screwed in the '81 strike too. After '94 the fans said FUCK YOU BASEBALL! and I don't blame em. If we all said that to baseball when it was necessary I think the game would be in better shape. Unfortunately, now they are proving what the owners have known all along. Baseball is such an awesome game that no matter what you do to the fans, they will return and spend.
  15. How are the Tiggers attendence numbers? Do they expect a bump at the gate due to this? I can't see how doing this now makes any sense at all.
  16. Edgy MD wrote: Cory Mazzillioni finishes todays game with the loss and a triceps injury. I think he may have been overthrowing. In the first he was pounding the zone with some heavy heat and looked pretty awesome. Then in the second he went south.
  17. Wow. I never knew Bibby went 19-19 in '74. Then 5-15. Then five years of him re-finding himself for a lil resurgence with the Bucs in '81 (19-6). I think the immediate benefit of Parker in 73 & his contributions getting us back to the big show outweighs Jim's erratic career. Sure, we could have used him. But if it meant '73 didn't happen the way it happened, faaagetttaboutit.

If this is a preview of how the pen will be during the season I don't know if I can take it. And not because the pen is failing, pens fail. But because its failing at a time you want them to succeed the most, after that great performance by Gee. Grrr.
