  1. This says Grandy was playing with a torn ligament in his thumb since game 3 of the NLCS. If you look close at the clip included you can see the thumb bend in a bad way. YOUCH! But torn? I find this hard to believe. Mets' Curtis Granderson has surgery to repair torn ligament in thumb http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/25364355/mets-curtis-granderson-has-surgery-to-repair-torn-ligament-in-thumb
  2. Everyone is going to pick YOU'RE DAMN WRIGHT,....I hope. I almost picked PITCH SLAPPED because of the bad photoshopping. I have no doubt that that was put on a graphic artist in this fashion: "I need Wright holding Thor in a headlock and I need it in 10 minutes for the front page!" If it didn't go down like that the graphic people there really suck and I hope that's not the case. I could use a good job.

  5. So if I'm the GM I can extend the QO, right? If so I stick with my plan of last week: 2 yrs, 24-27 million with incentives. The fan in me would go 3 yrs, 36 million, but the GM in me doesn't like the 3 yrs. If he can get 4 years somewhere else, great for him. This is going to be interesting. I think I read the Mets have to make the QO by this Friday.
  6. 86-Dreamer wrote: You are right about his 2016 trade value but I don't want to trade him - I want to win the 2016 World Series. I think a relief role fits in nicely with his skills, the Mets needs and a reduced post surgery workload. He could always go back to starting in spring training 2017. I think this is a smart.
  7. I'm on the fence. I only know he's not getting a 7 year deal here (or 6 for that matter). So let's see what the market dictates.
  8. If KCs scouts had Duda as a bad first baseman then their reports were old and out of date. Duda has become a fine first baseman since Ike left. He is calm around the bag and has not displayed the poor footing we saw at first, at 1st. 9 out of 10? I'll go as far as to say he makes that throw 99 out of 100 times. Duda's fielding around first base is no longer a concern, and that's what KCs scouting report should have reflected. So them and their scouts suck.
  9. Terry deserves to ride this wave of pitchers the next few years. Hopefully, he goes out on top.
  10. And this, I imagine, is the view. What's that short empire state building looking thing? That'll do.
  11. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Maybe when this is over you can Photoshop the winning cover onto the side of a Helsinki skyscraper. That'll be a piece of strudel (or whatever the hell passes for cake over there).
  12. cooby wrote: Do the players get paid for endorsements or is it a team thing? I think in the case of a uniform the team would get the moolah.
  13. Oh, I wasn't finished. I furthermore propose we move the CPF's international headquarters to Helsinki, Finland, home of the 1952 Summer Olympics.
  14. Ha, this is way kool. May I suggest the winning cover be enlarged to the size of a small building.

  16. I said to my bros, right after we lost Tejada, that either Murphy or Flores would do something either miraculous with their gloves, or something horribly awful. Possibly both. Flores held his own. But Muffy... After that run of out of this world hitting in the postseason, this is so sad. If I was Flores I would cry. But I'm not and that's baseball. But it wasn't just Muffy. A number of things lead to this depressing moment. Look at the hitting tonight! Shit happened, mistakes were made, we sucked. And those Royals, they were a fuckin' pain in the ass. Still, what a great season. I'm always bummed out when the Mets season ends, which usually would be a month ago. And I also get bummed when the series is over (no matter who's in it) and there's no more baseball. So for that reason I'm doubly bummed. But we had some great moments. Some great moments to take away. The Captain's homer was just perfect. Conforto, our Super-Rook, hit two dingers, one a colossal blast. IN A WORLD SERIES GAME! Thors mighty hammer. What Harvey did tonight. And more. Right now this sucks, but this was awesome. We were in the World Series. This team could go on a run the next few years. Should go on a run. Just needs some tinkering. This is a good time to be a lifelong Mets fan.
  17. Rockin' Doc wrote: Failure to push across more than 1 run in a bases loaded with no outs situation is what set the Mets up for the eventual defeat tonight. Bingo, bongo, boongo. And at the time I was very happy they got at least the one. But that was the turning point. Hey, Harvey had a chance to be everything he thinks he is. He almost pulled it off. I tip my cap to him.
  18. I'll never understand today's fans. How could you leave? Conforto keeps it goin! Niiiice.
  19. Lefty Specialist wrote: Jeez. Well, it was a good season up to this point anyway. A great season.
  20. I'm a TC supporter, I don't want him fired or anything, but I do feel he messed up. You all know I'm a give it a try and one bump guy. So, the walk would have been it for Matt. And yes, you have two starters stretched for multiple inning use. Use em. Ride em.
  21. Edgy MD wrote: You bring in Niese, you stay with Niese, mon. I would have ridden Niese for innings, or Colon. I wanted Colon but yea, if you go with Niese it's his game for at least 3. Then Colon for however-long. But I'm a baseball dinosaur so... This sucks. MUFFY! GAh!
  22. I can't sit still when the Royals bat.
  23. I think K.C.'s bench was out'a bounds.
