  1. You can catch me here during the offseason, starting next winter. Add this shithole to the Big Apple tours. Blech. NEW YORK (AP) -- A Hard Rock Cafe will open in the new Yankee Stadium. The 7,000-square-foot restaurant will operate year-round in right field when the park makes its debut next season, the two organizations announced Wednesday. Above it will be a restaurant called NYY Steak, a joint venture by the Yankees' parent company and Seminole Hard Rock Entertainment. Other NYY Steak branches could also be opened in other parts of the country. Patrons without tickets will be able to eat at both restaurants on game days. The field will not be visible from either location. Wednesday's announcement was the first news conference held at the under-construction stadium. Workers took cell phone photos of Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, who sat on a stage erected on the dirt where the infield will be.
  2. If there is a Douche Bag of the Game category, Billy Wagner just hit the trifecta.
  3. It was 4-2 when I left work. I hat this team.
  4. WTF? Alou plays one game and he's shelved again?
  5. The Mets have agreed to terms with first-round draft choice Reese Havens, a shortstop from the University of South Carolina, SI.com has learned. The Mets will pay Havens, the 22nd overall pick in last week's amateur draft, a signing bonus of about $1.4 million. Havens only has to compete a physical for the deal to be finalized. No first-round signings have been announced yet. The Mets also are close to signing their third pick, pitcher Brad Holt, from UNC-Wilmington, the 33rd overall pick, and are said to be making progress with their fourth pick, outfielder Javier Rodriguez from Puerto Rico Baseball Academy. Negotiations haven't yet begun with the Mets' first pick, first baseman Ike Davis from Arizona State University, whose team has been playing in the college playoffs. Davis was the 18th pick overall. Havens hit .359 for South Carolina. He is considered a possible catcher down the road. The $1.4 million is roughly "slot'' money for the 22nd pick.
  6. Will Shep have a boa constrictor wrapped around his neck?
  7. ESPN pool boy Buster Olney reports that Dontrelle is 30 pounds overweight. Sending him to FLA for fat camp, basically.
  8. In Chicago, putting ketchup on your dog is a sign of wussiness. Some stands don't even put it on the counter.
  9. I think Shell needs to turn around NOW!!
  10. He appears to be blossoming into another Mike Jacobs. Hmm, who did we trade him for?
  11. Interesting. Can't wait to see Richard Todd again.
  12. Why are they honoring the Jets?
  13. Funny, the Teds saw Mr. Met a few sections over in the upper deck early in the game. Little Ted was looking all over for him after that. We didn't see him again until the renowned t-shirt launch. Wonder if it all went down in the vacinity of the CPF crew.
  14. I can prolly commit to a pack of twizzlers right now. Not sure how the day is going to play out and will likely lean toward taking the train. If so, with a 2 year old in tow, a covered dish or a cold dessert is a pipe dream.
  15. Trying to get a master list of where all you peeps gonna be at on Saturday. The Teds will be camped out at eye level with LGA air traffic control: Upper Level Box, Section 38, Row 840B, seats 4-5-6 The t-shirt launcher does not know this altitude.
  16. Buster Olney on Mike & Mike today eluding to Keith possibly being the next Mets manager if Willie takes the axe. Wow.
  17. I'll give Jerry credit for showing some spark. When Delgado's homer was called foul in the Bronx, I thought it was an opportunity for Willie to show some balls and get into it with the umps. He backed down and it was Jerry who got tossed.
  18. That ball was hit over YONDER past the home run apple. Yeah, that might work.
  19. Unfortunately the New York Water Taxi isn't running a Mets Express this year or it would only be a 1 minute walk to the tailgate from the dock.
  20. I think I saw a rainbow flag on the back of the Cadillac his daddy gave him.
  21. We need Shooter Hunt NOW!!
  22. `I know you are going to go do some abs after. And do you mind if I join you?' Fucking stalker.
  23. When I was managing the Dodgers, we picked up Jim Leyritz and he was making this concoction in the clubhouse kitchen. I said, "What are you doing?" He said, "I'm making a little something to pep the club up." He had all these powders and cans and stuff. He gave me a shot of it. My heart started jumping out of my damn chest, and I didn't have but a thimbleful. I was taking medicine for arrhythmia. I asked him what it was, he said mostly Red Bull with some other kickers in there. Shocker.
  24. Perhaps the reason Mindy McCready is so messed up IS Roger Clemens. Some are saying she's a whack job, led a messed up life, blah blah blah. Throw that narcissistic bastard into the middle of a star-gazed 15 year old's life, have him lead her on for 10 years, and see what kind of path she ultimately follows when he's no longer putting her in the spotlight, jetting her around the country, or sending her money (for whatever reason). But he still has a personal services contract with the Astros. "no Yankee is ever coming to Houston; not as long as you bastards are running things!"
