I would've left Pelfrey in. I always want to leave the starter in, particularly when it's an error and a bloop. If he's getting hit hard, it's one thing. can't even use the 'tired' argument because he didn't even have that many pitches. I understand Manuel is contractually obligated to have Pedro and Fernando warm up every single game, and that they've been pretty effective and then you supposedly have the lockdown closer thing..(DON'T SHAKE OFF BARAJAS!) but I think generally leaving your starter in falls under "If it ain't broke..." Assuming he got out of it with the lead, I also would've left him in for the ninth.

I'm always surprise no one ever rams fielders that are fielding popups along the first baseline. Doesn't even have to be hard. I imagine that falls under interference, but sometimes you've got the 1B standing in the way long before the ball even starts coming down.

Still holding out hope that their will indeed b e a roster shake up today. No media notes yet, so still a possibility. My initial guess was Carter for Cat. Although I could see them doing a Fernando Martinez youth movement promotion like they did last homestand with Ike. too innovative for them, but Pagan's an above average CF that can play every day. In the off chance you want to give him a day off, can we not deal with Bay or Frenchy there for one day every blue moon? It's not like it's foreign concept for them to field there. Release GMJ for someone that helps the bench more.

I said before the season that if their pitching philosophy is pitching to contact, it's not going to work. Specifically if it's "Don't walk guys, let them make out." is not a strategy. I'm hoping taht's just the sound bytes we hear, and not the whole story, but Warthen's taken a ton of hits in my opinion. I wonder if part of it is just the intimidation factor of Citi Field that (hopefully) the Mets have grown comfortable with.

I understand the B lineup/day game after night game type attitude. But there is a day off tomorrow and no reason for GMJ to be in there unless it's like a "Go 3/4 or you're cut" type deal.

Actually, Cora not Castillo. incorrectly tweeted. Cora's played 33% of the games in the last nine (don't remember before that) that's too much, especially considering there was an off day in between them, and another one tomorrow. Cora should just flat out not be in there today, unless Castillo's been nursing something we don't know about.
