Not sure no PA announcements is the way to go. But the Yankees were never beyond keeping their fans confused so they could do what they wanted. Like how they refuse to wear numbers even though the average Yankee fan can probably only identify a handful of them by number.

Into his glove goes the ball, as it just avoids touching the grass to become a base-hit. David Wright with a lineout to the leftfielder, who went over and stretched out to make a wonderful play." Then he'll go on for a bit, and toss in a "Reyes tagged up and scored from third" way too long later when besides "caught" is the only thing I wanted to know. I like Hagin as a color guy more. He does seem to have a good sense of what's happening and why. He does seem good, although I don't have examples and could be way off, at setting the scene between pitches.

That way I don't get bilked for $35 in handling fees, the way all of these resellers do, or pay $16 in eBay shipping fees for something that costs 41 cents to mail. Is there a handling fee when buying tickets at the gate? As long as I don't mind paying a little extra, to sit in the better seats, I figure that they aren't selling out these weekday matinees anyway and we'll have options. That's my plan. It's a reasonable option. no fees at the gate. I'd recommend checking mets.com just to verify that there are plenty seats available in the price range though. But definitely should be able to get a smattering of decent selection. I'd avoid LF outfield though, unless you're in the front couple of rows of the 400, 300 or 100 level sections. I just realized, is there no 200 level at Citi Field? Or is that like those crazy Delta level tickets no one can afford?

Christian Parker on the other hand, pitched 3IP for the Yankees the next year, got bombed, stayed in the minors until 2005 and hasn't been heard from since. --Although Omar did sign Christian as a minor league free agent after 2003.
  6. I don't really like Myers, professionally or unprofessionally. I'd much prefer Lilly or someone like that. As was mentioned elsewhere, Dickey's probably pitching himself into the picture for next year too, and I think it'd be preferable to not sign another long term pitcher like Oswalt.
  7. Reyes is likely to play tonight as well, against the lefty. I understand the extra rest thing, but now, after a loss and 2-5 over their last seven, I do kinda wish Santana was pitching tonight.

  10. I'm still waiting to find out when the new episodes air so I can see myself flub the last question on TV, but, here's a picture of the new host. I won't spoil it by telling you she doesn't look as good in person: Hey, late start, what else is there to talk about?
  11. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Any word yet on who comes off the 25-man roster to open Beltran's spot? I'm guessing Nick Evans? (I just checked the Mets active roster on mets.com, and see Chris Carter is listed as a Designated Hitter. Huh?) yeah, given how Carter's been used for teh most part, that seems right. it's still stupid/weird though. they already sent down Feliciano before the break.
  12. TransMonk wrote: To San Francisco. I'm almost giddy...almost. You'll be giddy when he splashes one into the cove. It's about time to retire this thread I suppose. Unless we're gonna get one for everyone. "Wright Swinging" "Reyes Dancing" "Perez Walking" "Frankie agitating"
  13. Edgy DC wrote: If you get criticized, the admins' responses carry no more weight than those of the other posters. So fill me in... that column is fake, right? Right? I couldn't find it anywhere on my searches.
  14. I'd argue against Tatis, but I definitely would take all the other guys over Frenchy at this point. Honestly, factoring in defense, it seems like Jesus Feliciano might be the best choice. Depending on how Manuel would use the guy anyway. If we're expecting Beltran to take a couple of days off, the + plus defense might be more important. If not, might prefer Evans who may possibly have some power.
  15. So arguably, if Reyes still can't swing lefty, we're only hamstrung in two of these four games.
  16. TransMonk wrote: Ceetar wrote: Yes, but who's to say Omar didn't realize Dickey could stick? Based on what? Uhh..how about signing him? And making him one of the first call ups? I don't have access to Omar's brain/scouting notes when they signed him. But I would assume they said more than "Throws Knuckleball cause it's all he's got. Mostly sucks. "

I was thinking that the other night, will they move the fences in ?, in reality they need to rethink that whole mess of a HR Derby , there was no compelling player this year, last year Hamilton was a good story.....it's rubbish but I watched last year, not this year. Nah, it's certainly not that hard to hit one out anyway. (Although I remember hearing that they had the capability of moving the walls in or out like 8feet..no idea if that's true) We'll get some good lefties tattooing the pepsi porch, which will be fun. See if anyone can dent the Acela Club, count how many make it into the Apple.. But yeah, they need to at least get some of the bigger sluggers in there. Wouldn't it have been a thought to invite Ken Griffey Jr to this years? That'd have been cool..unless he just didn't want to? Seems like he could've/should've been there.
