  2. wait, really? I figured you had to get all the way past the foul line again before it'd be a second visit. That's sorta silly.

Didn't see that, but wouldn't surprise me. in the Wright got thrown out game, Bay was pegged as a possibility at 3rd. I'd have to imagine they'd consider Cora there as well. I thought Blanco was the Backup actually. hm.

I don't believe that Pelfrey cares less about winning just because he was joking with a reporter after the loss. Here's my idea: Why doesn't Alex Cora shut the fuck up until he can get his batting average over .280 for one whole week? I have a feeling that it wasn't directed at Pelfrey so much as the reporters. Coming in all jovial and making jokes or whatever.
  5. After three days in the desert fun I was looking at a river bed And the story it told of a river that flowed Made me sad to think it was dead

  7. Ollie is throwing, like, right now, like! He's got a full beard! Warthen is watching! Will he be activated? Only time will tell.

Bobby Valentine, Jim Koch, Batman, Wally Backman, Lou Pinella, Alex Cora, Joey Cora, that guy down the block who looks like Alex Cora, Tom Glavine, or even Bob Melvin.
  9. Benjamin Grimm wrote: It seems that whenever we pound this drum, the Mets go on an eight-game winning streak. Pound harder. I'd prefer 10.

Edgy DC wrote: I guess some of these guys are 11 years old, but how do you fall into the trap of the notion that K-Rod is useless/is worthless/sucks/is disposeable, but, you know, at least they got rid of Wagner before him, and Looper before him, and Benitez before him, and Franco for 15 years before him? Look at how many people are pretty much wishing we'd kept Wagner. short memories I guess.
  11. [Comment From Amit] Do you think there is any team that would be willing to trade for K-Rod? Mets could rid themselves of his salary and maybe get a nice player or two in return. There has got to be some team out there that still thinks this guy is good. They are not going to win any World Series with K-Rod as the closer K-Rod, for his flaws, is the best reliever the Mets have. You, sir, are being irrational. It always amuses me when fans are so sure that K-Rod/X Player is complete trash but think a GM wouldn't be smart enough to realize it and would accept him in a trade. Like it's a secret analytical power only Mets fans have. maybe amuses isn'tt the right word.

Tuesday July 20, 2010 2:33 Jerry You Bunt 2:35 No, it's not like they're going to start breaking up the roster for prospects. You don't really do that in New York unless things are really, really bad. Ten games out is really really bad. I think he meant if like Jose Reyes grew a third arm that reduced his running speed. But we were "supposed" to be 10 games out after the Yankees and Phillies series in May. This type of explosion is just so unlikely where the Mets are completely unable to win another game and Atlanta never loses.

  15. Edgy DC wrote: Who in the world would trade for Barajas? Um, your wife? I hear the echo of Gary Cohen looking at all Barajas's Home Runs early and wondering why it took someone so long in the offseason to sign this guy. I think we may have figured it out.

  17. metirish wrote: Someone needs to read CF's plight to the team before the game tonight , it's a matter of international importance, a nine game winning streak would get the kid back on board.(being on the road doesn't help at all) How about reading it to the Wilpons? It's of an issue of utmost importance to them.
