Now that he's back to earth, he can go on Friendster for all I care. I wonder if my friendster account is still active. I wonder if friendster is still active.
  3. @radickey43 is now on Twitter. I'd rather he play second base. Angel Pagan - CF Willie Harris - 2B David Wright - 3B Lucas Duda - 1B Jason Bay - LF Josh Thole - C Jason Pridie - RF Ruben Tejada - SS Dillon Gee - RHP
  4. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Another way to look at it is that the Mets can get to .500 by winning an average of 96 games per year for the next eleven years. Phillies would need like 35 years of 97 wins.
  5. Benjamin Grimm wrote: BULLETIN: Assuming no rainouts, Sunday's game will be the 8000th game (including regular and postseason games) in Mets history. You may now resume your regular morning activities. The 8000th regular season game is.. what early May? 8000 games (presumably at this point) without a no-hitter.
  6. Looks like 2009 probably didn't count. He went right on the DL instead of back to the minors after being added to the 40 man. At least, DePodesta said in some interview somewhere that he has another year.
  7. TransMonk wrote: This is the third season in a row that Martinez has made a major league appearance. He is still the 8th youngest man playing major league baseball in 2011. Sometimes it's easy to forget how young this dude still is even though it seems like he's been hangin' around forever. Hmm. I'm trying to figure this out, I think I'm correct but I'm not exactly an expert on this. I think Martinez is out of options next year. That seems like it's a huge deal. The rule seems to state that you're on optional assignment if you are on the 40 man, but spend 20 or more days in the minors. It states you can have a fourth option year if you have less than five years of pro experience, but Martinez started in 2006, so this would be his 6th season. (unless it counts 'service time' and the injuries help him? It seems to imply just years) If that's the case.. He's been a top prospect and will only be 23. There would be no way he could clear waivers. Probably should bring him up to see where he's at, ability wise. (which is what I'm writing my blog post about, which is what prompted this)

  10. I'm now 2-6 in IGT. I think I'm 3-7 at Citi this year, so that's probably fitting.
  11. Bay vs. Harang (17-46, 5HR) Wright - .667 (8-12, HR) Here's another good milestone to keep an eye on. David Wright needs 33 RBI to tie Strawberry for the club record. Achievable this year.

  13. Actually they're better than .500 and have had three consecutive winning months. regardless, good deal. A couple of us were bantering back and forth about the concessions discount and if they could cause it's Aramark and maybe if it's only preplanned "dollar dogs" or something. Or maybe they could toss you some Mets money with a ticket.
  14. This will be the last night game the Padres play at Citi this year. David Wright needs two total bases to tie Eddie for the club lead. This is the lineup Angel Pagan - CF Justin Turner - 2B David Wright - 3B Lucas Duda - 1B Jason Bay - LF Mike Baxter - RF Josh Thole - C Ruben Tejada - SS R.A. Dickey - RHP
  15. I think he's in the conversation. I think the Mets need to be closer to 85+ than 81-82 for him to win it. (85 has a poetic 2005 feel to it..)
  16. speaking of Farm, it'd be cool to have a CPF field trip to Spring Training one year.

Edgy DC wrote: I guess there's a class of fake baseball fan that's leaning Yankees but have been kind of bored with them for a while, and aren't committed enough to join the permanent club, and would like to consider the Mets as an alternative, just to be different and give the finger to the Yankee fan mook establishment they never quite felt at home in, but can't take the chance until the team shows itself to be the relative safe risk the Yankees are. Stick to college football or something. Actually I'm fine with those folks sticking around. Maybe next season when the Mets look good in August. They bring money and revenue to the team that helps make the team better and keeps guys like Jose Reyes here.
  18. MFS62 wrote: Buffalo lost in extra innings. I listened to the end of the game. Bottom of the 11th, one out, runners on first and second. The ball is hit back to Mike O'Connor on one quick hop and he THROWS TO FIRST. The announcers couldn't believe it, a sure 1-6-3 DP and he's out of the inning. Instead, he walks the next guy to load the bases, followed by a grounds rule double (credited as a single because the batter stopped before touching second). Game over, thank you for coming. Yuchhh. F-Mart had two hits and played right field, so his legs must be feeling ok again. Later There's room for him here.
  19. stupid Dodgers blew their chance in the first, now seemingly content to go quietly.
  20. Marlins actually tie it up. Texas is losing though.

  22. Elias: Last time the Mets won two straight games overcoming 2-run deficit in 8th inning or later in each game was April 23-24, 1965 at SF. The Mets trailed the Giants, 8-2, heading to the eighth on April 23, before scoring two in the eighth, four in the ninth and one in the 11th inning for an 9-8, 11-inning winOn April 24, the Giants scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth to grab a 6-4 lead but the Mets responded with three runs in the ninth to win 7-6New York trailed 8-4 heading to the eighth inning last night and was trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the eighth tonightPlease credit Elias for the research.

The MFYs don't have the pitching depth to make it unimaginable. oooh oooh, rush the "killer bs" and one of them blows out an elbow out of the bullpen.
