  4. Rob Johnson, #928, got the first hit of the game last night.
  5. wait, you want pictures of my actual hand now?

  7. Robertson feeling a little bit of the Parnell effect. Due for a bit of a letdown, and promoted just before it happens. Now let the blame fall on the promotion rather than the randomness of it.

  10. Lucas Duda is a funny guy BY ANDY MARTINO Beginning to think that Lucas Duda is messing with us. From last night: Kevin Burkhardt: Lucas, just confidence-wise, especially because its against two lefthanders, what did that mean to you? Lucas Duda: Yeah, I mean. I kind of struggled through the first part of the season agianst lefties. Luckily the ball found some space, and I got a hit. Burkhardt: (laughter). You say that matter-of-factly. Both of them were pretty big. Duda: Yeah, you know. Guys got on, I swung the bat, hit the ball, and it was a base hit. Me: Thats true. Thats what happened. Duda: Thats what happened. Youre right. http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/mets/2012/05/lucas-duda-is-a-funny-guy

  12. Edgy DC wrote: The rundown one was great. Cool that they have a file. Unfortunately, he plays in the same division as our secondbaseman who has a history of not getting out of the way. Cool that the interference was called Monday night. Too rarely whistled (and infielders are too rarely whisteld on BS neighborhood plays, for that matter). one of the last two days Valdespin pulled off a nice neighborhood play. I wish they'd call it, but at this point I wish they'd make a point of _saying_ they're going to call it prior to Spring Training so the players can have some practice not exploiting it.
  13. Do we not have a douchy Philly thread? oh well, here's Victorino last night. some others: http://mlb.sbnation.com/2012/5/9/3010029/shane-victorino-dirty-player
  14. well..yeah. Duda got two hits off a lefty. Nieuwenhuis is awesome. not a day game after a night game. Lee will only pitch half the game anyway, off day tomorrow.. whatever, Rottino will go long-ball off Lee, calling it now.
  15. Edgy DC wrote: Yeah, I think ceetar was the one not giving you credit for accounting for that. Grimmy was just having fun with that. Indeed. I was just trying to look for a way for him to do it at home! so I guess if broken pinkies is factored in we should look for him to break it earlier..they're home the series before that Brewer series.

  18. Where's that image from? the Orioles broadcast? Don't they usually do those things in like the 5th inning?

Seriously, though, shelters have pets too, you can take one home for about $50 to cover the cost of shots and fees. Cat. bladder stone. she's okay, excepting her distaste for having banana flavored antibiotics shoved down her throat twice a day. she's pre-shelter actually. took her (and her daughter) right out of the backyard 7 years ago or so.
  20. so far the underbelly of the Phillies pen has been plenty soft..it's been sweet and Savery. *groan* stole this from Ted Berg I hope Wednesday's Gee-Lee matchup in Philly will be better than its homophonic Ben Affleck movie.
  21. Edgy DC wrote: So I'm trying to keep it cool here. Trying. But I'm consumed by urges to high-five folks through computer screens. The proper remedy for this condition is to attend a live-sporting event. Take three road-Mets wins and post about it in the morning.
  22. my other shoe dropped in the terms of a $2500 vet bill, so that means the Mets shoe won't right?
  23. I'm sure they're intending to be careful, and likely plan to reup him on the seventh (only need to do it once, after that the 15 is a better option anyway), but I imagine these decisions will be more firmly made early next week.
