  1. Josh Lewin's calls were great. Just listened to them on MLB.tv since I have an at-bat account. (they're in the regular game highlights too, the must-c part.) Murphy's: "He creams it to right. There it goes! Are you kidding? It's gone again! 3-1 NY. Back to back pitches into an exploding upper deck."
  2. can't figure out a way to query that in play index. If I had my DB up at home I could do it for previous years, but I think I lost that as well.

I am guessing that it took much of June/July for the knee to stop bothering him, at which point he was able to start driving the ball again. his exit velocity off the bat undeniably dropped after that, though it'd crept up again long before the last few weeks, but I wonder if he got into some bad habits as a result.
  5. [u:9q60wdbj]Bryce Harper Facts [/u:9q60wdbj] Bryce Harper's homered in 10 different ballparks this season, but not Citi Field. Bryce Harper's .576 OPS at Citi Field this season is the lowest of any of the 15th parks he's played in. The career leaders in Striking Out Bryce Harper are Matt Harvey, R.A. Dickey and Antonio Bastardo with 7 There is only one pitcher in the game that Bryce Harper has faced more than 9 times who he doesn't have a hit against...Matt Harvey. In 26 career PA against Matt Harvey and Jeurys Familia, Bryce Harper has 12 Ks, 3 BB, and ZERO hits.
  6. Good series all. Good job. Feel free to treat yourself to a fish fry for dinner tomorrow night.
  7. Duda's hitting this thread so hard there's talk of brown outs in the whole forum.
  8. Plawecki to start this one.

I can't speak for his home run call, but Josh was great tonight. I'm thinking of inviting him over tomorrow. I'm definitely considering slowing down the live TV and watching with the WOR audio. 12. Zvon wrote: These Nat batters really know how to wear down a pitcher. Yesterday making Harvey work so hard every at-bat, today making deGrom throw 42 pitches in the first 2 frames. Harvey cruised through 6? with like 4 pitches.
  13. Centerfield wrote: 0 for 5. No teammates greeted him at home plate to end the game. It's early, but right now, it's Flores 1, Gomez 0. I mean, ultimately Gomez will win that since he's a much better player (until the hip breaks), but I'd take the Mets route to the playoffs over the Astros right now. Tough division.
  14. I don't see anything on Cots about the may 15th rule, that sounds like an old rule. But in reality, if the Mets do want to re-sign him and Cespedes is game, they can just void the existing contract and sign a new one, that's generally how these things work right? If there really is a May 15th rule tied to releasing a player they'd have to do this prior to the end of the season though to prevent that from kicking in.
  15. metirish wrote: Ah, thanks , yes that was great and I'm a wanker for not being here . Can't wait for the game tomorrow ....Cespedes gets biggest ovation for a new player since who? Bubba Trammel.
  16. man, this arc on the World Series video is going to look made up.
  17. I still don't understand this lineup. Let's just get past Harper here please.

    Fishneritz

  20. Bruce is good, and healthy. He's only 28. His Career splits against lefties aren't horrible. And it's a trade there, because if he does hurt the defense( right now he'd play right with Curtis in left?) it's probably because either they got someone else or Cuddyer is back and hitting lefties.

  22. Edgy MD wrote: The ever-reliable Joel Sherman reports that the availability of Wheeler is linked to the emergence is Michael Fulmer: 6-2 / 1.88 at Bingo, with 83 strikeouts and 23 walks in 86 innings. I'm wondering if AA Fulmer or Wounded Wheeler is a better chip on the market. I'd probably rather trade Fulmer than Wheeler if he had/had higher value.

  24. All doctors everywhere are like this. I get that they're easy to scapegoat, but it's not like the Mets doctors have a worse track record than other teams, or other doctors. Hell, other teams sometimes come to our doctors for their tommy johns. It's hard to equate to what the Astros saw, as they wrapped him up in a bigger deal. It's really not in doubt that Gomez has hip issues, maybe the Astros think the degeneration just wasn't that bad, or that it'll hold up for 3 or 15 months.
  25. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: Let's just accept the Mets-leaked cover story, and say that he has an adductor/hip issue that could be problematic down the road. They would have been taking on his below-market contract for a season and, like, a third... not signing him to a five-year, market-value deal. You think he's got a potentially-creaky hip? Ride out his contract, then QO the guy at year's end. if he breaks a hip he's going on DL for like, all the season, and accepting any QO. But you don't give up Wheeler for that.
