  1. I'm rooting for the home team to win every game so this is working out just as I planned. I would like to some pitching duels in the upcoming games though.

  4. I bow before the king.
  5. I guess San Francisco needed all those runs after all.
  6. Jeez Giants, you're not playing the Phillies or the Yankees. You don't need to be so vengeful.
  7. I wonder what O'Connor has to say about the owner of the 'roidiest team ever to win a World Series?

  10. Maybe the Mets can sign him. If he's willing to move to second.
  11. I could have sworn I recalled something where you equated Beltran's strikeout as a failure on par with the collapses of 2007 & 08. Nevertheless, you know your book better than I so I retract that comment. The "intelligent person" part stands thought because that was meant to be taken at face value.
  12. Is anyone else flabbergasted that game 3 is starting at 6:30 (which is 5:30 local time)? There could be daylight at a World Series game in the first time in forever. I'm hoping these start times are actually for first pitch and not just when FOX pregame coverage begins.
  13. I'm actually excited about the World Series for the first time in a couple of years. First of all, there's the absence of evil in the World Series for the first time since 2007. Then there's the fact that history will be made in that either the Rangers will win their first World Series ever or the Giants will win their first World Series since moving to San Francisco. Oh and the NL has home field advantage for once (and the more attractive ballpark). Here's the schedule: Gm 1 TEX @ SF Wed Oct. 27 7:30 PM Gm 2 TEX @ SF Thu Oct. 28 7:30 PM Gm 3 SF @ TEX Sat Oct. 30 6:30 PM ! Gm 4 SF @ TEX Sun Oct. 31 8:00 PM Gm 5* SF @ TEX Mon Nov. 1 7:30 PM Gm 6* TEX @ SF Wed Nov. 3 7:30 PM Gm 7* TEX @ SF Thu Nov. 4 7:30 PM
  14. I've never understood the "Beltran as goat" theory of the 2006 NLCS. Even an intelligent person like G-FAFIF went on about at length in his book. The Mets as a team hit like shit in that game and in that series. The pitchers messed up a few times too especially with Glavine shitting the bed in one of his starts. The thing is that if Beltran hit a game/series winning home run in that situation we'd still be talking about unlikely and miraculous it was. So why do we give Beltran shit about not doing the "unlikely" and "miraculous"? He was the last chance in a series of blown chances and odds were that 99 out of 100 times he's going to make an out. The Mets blew a chance to win a pennant but it wasn't Beltran's fault.
  15. I sat next to some hecklers at a Giants game in the bleachers there and they were simultaneously completely obnoxious and friendly & welcoming at the same time. And I was wearing a Mets hat.
  16. A-Rod Finally Leads Rangers To World Series
  17. Mostly rooting for a good series, but I'll go with San Francisco both because they're NL and they've been around a little longer w/o a World Series.
  18. THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT! THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT!
  19. One...more...strike.
  20. OK, let's pitch out of one more jam, Jints.
  21. I'm not liking this gamble on Lincecum right now.
