  2. I really want this to be a mistaken identity comedy.
  3. Edgy MD wrote: Untitled Amy Winehouse-Themed Thing (2021?) Not much news except that Winey's father is cooperating. It would be better if her father is not involved since he's a shameless self-promoter, and a pretty shitty dad by most accounts.
  4. I think of When They See Us as four different movies in a series. Because each part is a different style of film-making
  5. =TransMonk post_id=29803 time=1579133580 user_id=71] Lupita Nyong'o wuz robbed.
  6. I've watched a lot of movies in 2019, but not a lot of movies from 2019. Here's my list with ratings on a 5-star scale: Captain Marvel - **** Us - **** Avengers: Endgame - **** See You Yesterday - ***1/2 When They See Us - **** 63 Up - ***** Spider-Man: Far From Home - ***1/2 Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker- *** Movies I want to see: Apollo 11 Booksmart Frozen II Knives Out The Last Black Man in San Francisco The Lighthouse Little Women Toy Story 4
  7. I like the Charlie Chaplin movies - The Kid, The Gold Rush, and City Lights. Harold Lloyd's Safety Last and Buster Keaton's The General are also funny with great action sequences. Battleship Potemkin and Man with a Movie Camera are both very interesting from a film history/technical innovation perspective but aren't exactly entertaining movies. Nosferatu is creepy and made me realize that I know very little of Dracula lore. Metropolis and Pandora's Box were slogs but they had their moments. Wings has great flying sequences and the adorable Clara Bow although the movie feels like it was made to be Oscar bait even before the Oscars were invented. The only movie that you mentioned that I've watched before is The Big Parade, but that was in my high school film studies class so I barely remember it.
  8. I DO like old movies. I also like new movies. Starting last summer I've been making a concerted effort to watch some classic movies that I've never seen before. I started in the silent era and I'm up to the early 60s now. There's still a lot of movies I've missed though. So little time.

  10. THE LAST DRAGON is a classic.
  11. Which of the Italian-Americans in the cast is playing an Irishman?
  12. Vic Sage wrote: you can't imagine a Kanye biopic? I think the Kanye biopic will star Kanye and is being filmed in real time.
  13. Agree with the views of the skyline. I got some great pictures up there. They do still have the policy of not allowing people with upper level tickets into the field level area, but at the game I went to with my family last year there was no one enforcing it. We wandered around the field level before the game and my wife & son returned during the ninth inning. Maybe they're stricter when the attendance is better because this game had a very poor turnout.
  14. I've been there a couple of times. It's nice on the lower level, I sat in the bleachers the first time, but the upper levels are pretty miserable. There's not much to do in the surrounding area as the ballpark is surrounded by a parking lot and a massive freeway.
  15. These songs will change your life, I swear!

  17. With an historic team name like the Cleveland Spiders available - both a cool name and a design element - the team should've rebranded years ago.
  18. This link is spoilery, but questions 10 a-c resemble my own thoughts on the Mets' references in the movie: https://www.tvguide.com/news/avengers-endgame-burning-questions/https://www.tvguide.com/news/avengers-endgame-burning-questions/ I mean, New York City post-snap is still going to have around 4 million people, larger than Chicago and Los Angeles are today, so would they not still be able to field a baseball team and draw fans?
  19. Saw it today with my son. I gave it 4 out 5 (or 8 snaps here). Obviously the pay off is going to be better the more invested you are in the previous 21 movies. This one actually felt like three different movies in sequence, and they got a lot of good character work in without it feeling padded or boring. The end ties up the story arcs for several of the Original Avengers while setting up new storylines for some of the more recenlty introduced characters.
  20. =Centerfield post_id=4666 time=1553105852 user_id=65] I haven't seen it, but Brie Larson does like, nothing for me.
  21. Draft is on Saturday, so sign-up now should you be interested.
  22. My son and I have renewed our Yahoo! Fanatasy League for this year. It's a laid-back league with a mix of kids, parents, and adults who don't have kids. We have some open slots so you're welcome to set up a team for your kid(s), yourself, or both. https://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/71139/invitation?key=2bd71564c98e7600&soc_trk=lnk&ikey=acadeec5b61fe21chttps://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/71139/invitation?key=2bd71564c98e7600&soc_trk=lnk&ikey=acadeec5b61fe21c
  23. Going to Walt Disney World during Winter Break but sadly our visit will not overlap with any spring training games. My son & I might stop by the Braves complex for a workout to get our baseball fix.
  24. I still need to see this.
  25. Well, it's a live-action remake of an animated classic.
