  1. Hustling on the basepaths: It's the Mets Way!

  3. This game may be decided on PK's.

  5. Beltran makes a boo-boo on the basepaths on his birthday.
  6. Watching Finley go flat against the wall brings back memories of Todd Pratt's walk-off. Valentin on third with a stand-up triple.
  7. Dukey was worrying me there. I hope he's got that out of his system. It's the freakin' Rockies after all.
  8. OlerudOwned wrote: Rockies' batting helmets have the same type of two-tone effect that the Mets started. Did they have it last season, too?Possibly. The Rockies have been in the vanguard of ugly uniform design throughout the franchise's history.
  9. Ah, a nice slump buster by David Wright. The second 75 begins.
  10. Is it just me, or are the Mets turning a lot of DP's this season?
  11. Reyes would have beat that one out (LoDuca's grounder that is).
  12. I never knew El Duque likes U2 so much.
  13. pwn3d by the s.o.!
  14. Well, not exactly the same team as 2006. Pedro is injured, Glavine & Hernandez are aging and may be on the downside, and Maine/Perez/Pelfrey are all lacking in experience. That is why the rotation was questionable going into the season and despite it's success thus far is still questionable.
  15. Found this page with some fun links to Minor League baseball resources.
  16. Alou 2.5 Delgado 1.5 Feliciano .50 Maine 2.5 Valentin 3
  17. Yeah if you're looking for goats, in NLCS game #7 alone you could pin it on the entire lineup that failed to get any hits at all from inning 2 to inning 8. This includes the much beloved Endy Chavez who came up with 2-on and with the bases loaded and failed to produce or Valentin who struck out with the bases loaded and only 1 out. You could also blame Heilman who allowed a home run by Jadier Bleeping Molina.
  18. A month ago we were in favor of batting Wright 2nd. Would we change our votes today?
  19. iramets wrote: ="Willets Point"]I didn't think it was subtle I read it three or four times, and said it aloud once, before I got it. Well I'm 30 miles from the NH border so I guess I have an advantage on you as far as state motto familiarity goes.
  20. I didn't think it was subtle but I like it all the same. I don't get to watch every game and it seems that I've not seen Pelfrey pitching at all this season so I can't really add a comment there.
  21. If the Mets are in the thick of things (that is leading the NL East or Wild Card) I would think Pedro would just be a bonus. It would be nice to ease him in with a little extra rest if possible (which would probably be good for our other older pitchers too). If the Mets are struggling to keep up when Pedro returns, I don't think we can count on him to be a savior and really other issues will have to be addressed, maybe by trade.
  22. Also tied for 2nd best record in all of baseball and once again in first place in the NL East, for what it's worth in late April. Personally, I'm surprised. I figured the weak starting rotation would keep the Mets down, but so far the batters have tended to bail out the pitchers and each starter has had a least one awesome performance thus far. The question is, can the Mets sustain this?
  23. A thread for intelligent, well-read Mets fans to discuss how the team is doing...NOW!!!
