I'm hoping it goes down in history as the "Boston Massacre" where the Red Sox outscore the Yankees by something like 27-2 over the three game series. And the Yankees are eliminated from postseason contention. And maybe there's a perfect game in there too.

  15. Yancy Street Gang wrote: Ugh. Scoscia. I was at that stinking game. I must have blocked it out. Ugh. Aaron Boone. I wonder, though, if that would make the Yankees list. Boone, Dent, Chambliss would be a worthy three, but I'd bet that a list complied by ESPN would want to include Babe Ruth's "called shot." You're forgetting Jeterlove. They'll want to have Jeter hits a "home run" to Jeffery Maier, Jeter leads off a World Series game vs. the Mets with a home run, Jeter hits the first MLB home run ever hit in November...They'll probably through in some bonus Jeter home runs as well.

  17. It's nice to be in the in-group for once.

  23. There doesn't appear to be any great Braves' pitcher who debuted in 2002, thus the chain is broken. From a baseball fan point of view, that's a bummer, but the Braves hater in me is just fine with that.

Yeah, but I've been feeling optimistic since mid-July. This game is just a temporary downturn if the Mets win tomorrow. In fact I'm getting psyched for it right now. The Braves and their fans are feeling all cahnfident, but the Mets are going to smack 'em down in heartbreaking fashion. You just watch.
