  1. Well, that did not go according to plan.
  2. The Marlins get to Diaz to extend their lead to 11-8
  3. Two unproductive outs so it falls to Mullins who promptly lines out. That was a painful, and very possibly a costly failure.
  4. Lead off triple by McNeil to open the Mets 7th. The Mets have to drive him in.
  5. Edgy MD wrote: I don't think Baty was decoying on that pop. I think he lost the ball. I thought McNeil might have had a play on the ball if he ran hard (rather than decoying). You may be right, that he lost it.
  6. I remember when many of us were debating what was wrong with Soto. No one is asking that anymore.
  7. With the Marlins defensive alignment, McNeil could trot to first for a hit with a reasonable bunt down the 3rd base line. Of course he has 2 strikes now.
  8. No matter how this game turns out, a great effort by Devenski to stop the bleeding and give the offense a chance to get back into the game. Poor guy will will likely be outrighted to Syracuse for a fresh arm after the game.
  9. Soto KABOOM! Mets trail 8-6 after 4 innings. The Mets really need another clean inning from Devenski.
  10. A 3 run HR by Vientos and suddenly it's a ball game again.
  11. Might as well bring Sproat up, since the youngsters have been outperforming rest of the rotation. McLean and Tong have been more effective (granted in small sample size) and are providing the length that Senga, Holmes, Manaea and Peterson (for the last month) are not providing.
  12. The Mets just delivered a nut punch to the Phillies.
  13. That was "great" Diaz. Let's land a gut punch of our own by walking this one off.
  14. Thankfully, we had "good" Diaz. Now we need the offense to beat on Alvarado.
  15. Phew, that could have been so much worse. Hopefully, the offense can tack on some insurance runs.
  16. Top of the order needs to cash in the gift of Torrens getting hit to open the inning. Let's run this clown now.
  17. Lindor flashing some serious leather. Manea just seems to run out of gas. Soto on to face Schwarber.
  18. This team does not look like a playoff worthy team to me. Since the All Star break they have been absolutely terrible. They have developed a sure fire formula for losing; poor, unreliable starting pitching that walks far too many hitters combined with a sluggish offense and an overworked bullpen. This team is truly underachieving. They infuriate me. I can only imagine how Steve Cohen must feel about this team after all the money he invested in them.
