1. Okay, I forgot that Wil Cordero sucks.
2. I hate intentional walks. HATE THEM. No way Cordero doesn't drive in runs here.
3. Nah. Just googled gay penguins and it was the first thing that came up.

5. 227 according to b-r.com...
6. Okay, Edgy. I give up. Who is it?
7. Cooby: WHAT SIZE YOU DO YOU WANT ON THAT SWEATER? HOW ABOUT THOSE SLIPPERS?Customer: Why are you yelling at me?Cooby: I'M NOT YELLING AT YOU.Customer: I'm going to LL Bean.
8. There's an Eddie Kranepool Society? Can we sue for copyright infringement?
9. Rereading this now, in preparation for July 16.
10. Any word on the cookie development? I've started printing out boxscores from games I've attended, and I'm going to start compiling my "personal" stats soon. I only wish I had more ticket stubs from the old days.
11. I would not, under any circumstances, deal Reyes for Soriano. I would deal Diaz, Heilman, Seo, Cameron, Glavine, Daubach, David Cone, Juan Samuel, Scott Kazmir, Victor Zambrano, a box of Robert Alomar bobbleheads, and Fred Wilpon's left nut for Soriano; but I would not deal Reyes.I think Glavine's option vests earlier than 200 IP this year, because it also vests if he pitches a certain number of innings over the three years, and he's a lot closer than that. I think it's somewhere around 165 IP that locks the option this year.
12. The Mets still have the ability -- at least "on paper" -- to make a run. If Beltran starts hitting, he can carry them the way he carried the Astros. He can make everyone better. I don't know if the pitching can hold up, or if Floyd can equal his first half, or if Reyes can get better, or any number of other things... but I'm saying it's possible.
13. How the hell do you not score any runs on Esteban Loaiza? The guy couldn't get my grandma out last season, and now he's Cy Young? Urg.

Great pictures! Nice job!
15. I know, I know. I try to let it roll, and sometimes I even agree... but sometimes... you know.
16. See, that's because we're Mets fans. If you hop over to the Matt Cepicky Forum, I'm sure that's the way they're explaining it (although they wouldn't get the "caahnfidence" jokes). Part of being a fan is enjoying a club when they're winning, and not waiting for (or expecting) them to fail.
17. I think we have to face the fact that this team is a .500 club. No better, no worse.
18. 1. How many times, in an average week, do you visit the UMDB? 10-20. I'm usually on there at least twice a day, sometimes more.2. What usually prompts you to visit? Question about a specific game or player or transaction (like "Who was in that Gary Carter trade again?"), or to check "this date in history," or to breeze through the "recently added memories."3. Which features do you find most useful? Interactive stats; I wish the hitting stats went down to 1 (instead of minimum 10), just for fun.4. Which features are you aware of that you don't find particularly useful? I can't think of anything. I happen to enjoy the Mets-only statistics; if I want total stats, I check b-r.com.edit: I will reiterate my contention that the UMDB is the Best. Web site. Ever.
19. Edgy DC wrote:So you've said, but so far this year, the Mets wouldn't have been so screwed by such a misidentification:PlayerTEAMWLERAGGSCGSHOSVSVOIPHRERHRHBPBBSOC ZambranoCHC543.8517171000107.282474610647101V ZambranoNYM473.801515000090.0854438594958Wow. And if Vagina Boy had struck out as many guys as his long-lost half-brother Carlos has, his overall numbers would probably look even better. Good post.
20. Annual All-Star bonus article.Disturbing, methinks, that guys like A-Rod and Beltran and Vlad Guerrero have All-Star bonus clauses. You know, guys, you're supposed to make the All-Star team every year. That's why you're already being paid 82 bazillion dollars a year.
21. Can we switch Zambranos with the Cubs? You think anyone will notice?
22. So from what I'm gathering:MiniKnight 4Edgy 2Scarlet Knight 1KC 1Willets 1D-Dad 1
23. Ooh! Let him go to the Yanks! "Old George" would have dealt Wang and Cano for Boone in a second. They can field an All-Roid-Wasted right side of the infield.
24. I don't care if Matsui goes; I don't hate him so much. It really is Anyone But Jeter. I voted Crawford and Oswalt, though.I was poking around on SoSH this morning, seeing if anyone mentioned any deep-rooted desire to acquire Roberto Hernandez and/or Braden Looper to help their ailing bullpen, and they're talking about voting for Matsui. Together with (hopefully) the Japanese vote, it should be enough to keep Jeter off the team.Of course, there are always injuries, so you know Jeter's making the team, no matter how anyone votes.
25. I doubt we'll see anything like that for Piazza. Piazza hasn't said he's retiring, so it would be premature to honor him like that.
