On any given day the Astros may or may not be in playoff position. That's the current state of the American League After firing the GM and assuming the role himself the owner Crane has had hired Brent Strom as a pitching consultant for the balance of the season Veteran 1B Christian Walker has slumped to the tune of 6 hits in his last 50 at bats. Naturally his bat woke up last night with a homer in the Bronx. Hopefully this doesn't wake him up to do damage this weekend LGM

    I would have no issue with Green returning as manager. I believe the oft mentioned Carlos Beltran is too big for the job. If Beltran was failing as a manager who would be willing to fire this legend? Maybe anyone but I don't think so Green as a GM? For what? to submit transactions? As long as Stearns is here he will call almost 100% of the shots I don't think Green will return as manager. It is New York and I'm guessing they want some name recognition although Mendoza didn't really have any Maybe Green finds himself "promoted" to another organization LGM

    Robert Jr has been red hot. But arguably not as hot as Pete Alonso who went 4-4 last night bringing him to .276 31 84 .876 for the season So yes, I hope the Mets win. The also lowly Royals have now won eight in a row so why can't the Mets? The Mets have not been eliminated LGM
