  1. Believe it or not, Steve Phillips is actually picking David Wright to win the NL MVP.
  2. After 12 years as Minnesota's GM, Terry Ryan has decided to resign. Although the Twins have been pretty good in recent years, they've slumped this year, and Ryan's been faulted for signing aging, unproductive veterans and failing to lock up their stars with long-term deals.
  3. The Soviets have replaced the Nazis as the bad guys in this movie. Some tidbits that I know: There is a motorcycle chase through 1950's New Haven. There may be Russian tanks in the movie. Part of the movie takes place in Mexico/Central America. Cate Blanchett and John Hurt are also in the movie. Both sides in the Cold War are after Indiana Jones' expertise regarding a really big archaeological find.

  7. Interesting tidbit from last night - I think it was Dusty Baker who said that when he throws down in the strike zone, he's "nasty", but when his pitches get up, he becomes hittable.
  8. It's called us being awesome. Seriously, though, that's pretty impressive.
  9. Yeah, it's set some time in the 1950's.
  10. Dusty Baker, who knows something about baseball, is saying very nice things about Maine. On edit: I'm Todd Pratt. Watch me hit a series-winning home run.
  11. Steve Phillips is a fucking moron. Philly lost, we now have a 7 game lead!!!
  12. Put it in the books, folks!!!!!!!!!
  13. The Green Monster drives one in!!!
  14. Steve Phillips SUCKS at broadcasting games.
  15. Let's go Mets!!!
  16. I'm heading to Rosh Hashanah services. I'll be praying for the Mets, and hopefully I'll be back to watch part of the game on ESPN.

  18. Washington's loss to Florida today officially eliminates them from the NL East race.
  19. Well, now it's 7-4 Pittsburgh.
  20. There's the promotional image for the title Old Indy Spielberg with the cast: Shia LaBeouf (playing Indy's son, presumably by Marion Ravenwood), Ray Winstone, Karen Allen, and Harrison Ford
  21. It's the top of the 8th in Pittsburgh, and the score is tied, 4-4, between the Pirates and the Brewers. At the end of 5, it's Washington 4, Florida 3. In the bottom of the third, the White Sox and Indians are tied at 1. Also in the bottom of the third, KC leads Minnesota 4-0.
  22. I want Kevin Mulvey up here now. I don't want to wait another year or so.
  23. So apparently Lo Duca went KABOOM while my page was refreshing. Now Pelfrey comes on to pitch the fifth.
