  1. Duh. Caddyshack by a country mile.
  2. ="soupcanpbzovdft]I would say that as long as he stays in the baseline and does not go out of his way to interefere with the ball then he can do whatever he wants.
  3. I have no NL-based loyalty. I hate all the NL teams that are not the Mets. After all they all spend 162 games trying to beat my team. On top of that, I went to a Mets-Phillies game in 2007 and sat in the upper deck at Shea with those animals (the Phillies fans, that is, though I saw some real Phillistines in orange and blue that day also). I won't be rooting for the Phillies to win anything besides getting struck by a comet anytime soon. Go Rays.
  4. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I bet whoever ends up with that segment will start each morning by leaping against that wall and pretending to be Endy Chavez. I already do this every morning, against every wall in my house. I'm annoying like that.
  5. AG/DC wrote: it would be wrong to vote against The Blues Brothers, because not only is a great film, but a Crane Pooler was instrumental in it being made. Well hot damn, that is a great story.
  6. ="soupcan"]="metirish"]] I watched the whole thing. I couldn't , it was all I could take to watch six innings of Kazmir . An overwhelming sense of loss overtook me watching him dominate the Red Sox. You have to get past that. I think that every time I see the guy pitch. Every time. I am past it... but I still get wistful at the thought of this guy pitching and starring for another MLB team. Ironically, I was present at VZ's last ever Met appearance, where his elbow exploded in the 2nd inning against Atlanta. He ran off the mound so fast my wife and I thought maybe he had the shits.
  7. I'm voting for Heathers too. Christian Slater doing his Jack Nicholson impression works for me and those chicks were all hot. Even Betty Finn and her nerdy ass. To me this tournament is all about shapely bottoms. Die Hard was great compared to other films in its genre, but it's just like so many other movies. We get it, hijackers with exotic accents, hostages, explosions, guys getting shot.
  8. Give Charles Grodin credit for popularizing the thong and showing everyone his big hiney. Kudos to you and your jungle booty! Having said that, Airplane! baby!. Another slam dunk.
  9. Give Linda Kozlowski credit for popularizing the thong and showing everyone her big hiney. Kudos to you and your jungle booty! Having said that, BTTF baby. Another slam dunk.
  10. There are a hundred great quotes from that movie. Elwood: What kind of music do you usually have here? Claire: Oh, we got both kinds. We got country *and* western. Name ONE quote from Nightmare. ONE. I dare ya. This is a no-brainer of the highest order.
  11. bmfc1 wrote: It must suck to have your bullpen blow such a big lead. Ha! I went to bed with the Sawx down 7-0. Missed the whole hootenanny.
  12. HahnSolo wrote: Yup. Unless some great influx of Kelly LeBrock fans sign up. She really let herself go. She looks more like Kelly LeBigMac now. Of course, if you're looking for full frontal Kelly in her younger humpable days, I'd suggest "The Woman in Red." I'd recommend the soundtrack to that film as well, to anyone looking for anything.
  13. Not the biggest Beuler fan but Mia Sara can drink my milkshake. In fact she might get some milkshake in her hair if she ain't careful...
  14. I enjoyed Weird Science but it ain't Empire. Perhaps the biggest spoiler ever in cinema at the end. Just fantastic, and the best of all six Star Wars movies.
  15. I vote for Robocop due to the always excellent Kurtwood Smith. That guy is gold, Jerry, gold!
  16. I'm a werewolf guy. Interpret that as you like.
  17. God I hope the Rays can finish off the Sawx. A Phillies/Red Sox World Series just sickens me.
  18. What a Berenyitacular quote.

="AG/DC"]In pitching news (your Peoria pitching coach: Wally Whitehurst), Eddie Kunz is unscored upon, finishing up two games, Jason Vargas somehow gave up three hits in an inning without giving up a run, and Tobi Stoner got himself a win --- and hopes to someday join Brian Stokes and Tim Bogart on the Mets all-drug-slang team. Bobby Parnell is also supposedly assigned to this squad, but he may be an alternate, because I think each team sends three six suckers. Not that it needs to be said but I assume Grant Roberts is your honorary pitching coach.
  21. 8-7 in the 6th. This game will be on for many hours still.
  22. I was reconsidering the title of this thread. Burgos is the answer... but the question should be "Which Met is most likely to mow you down as you cross the street eating churros?"
  23. Dolts.
  24. NO NO NO NO NO NO NONONONONONONONO. Cano-Beltran? No. Thank goodness this is just bored media speculation not grounded in fact.
  25. ="HahnSolo":6ljo33ad]DR cop, trying his best to look menacing. I'm pretty happy, too. Someone get him a Jeter jersey and I'd be even more happy. metirish Oct 10 2008 11:58 AM The style now days is to keep the tag on , at least here in NYC it is. I don't get it either but tags are the thing now. Benjamin Grimm Oct 10 2008 12:00 PM You mean that sticker that's on the brim? That, along with the flat brim, looks ridiculous. metirish Oct 10 2008 12:05 PM Yeah the sticker on the brim is all the style , that and the sticker that gives the hat size in the under side of the brim. soupcan Oct 10 2008 01:14 PM Bought my son a new Mets fitted hat a little while back. We walked out of the store and the first thing he did was remove all the stickers and start rolling the brim. I was so proud. Fman99 Oct 10 2008 06:17 PM I was reconsidering the title of this thread. Burgos is the answer... but the question should be "Which Met is most likely to mow you down as you cross the street eating churros?" Edgy DC Oct 30 2008 10:36 AM ]New York Mets pitcher Ambiorix Burgos has been released from jail following a car crash that killed two women. A judge ordered him to pay $57,000 US and appear every two weeks before a magistrate until a court date is set. Gwreck Oct 30 2008 11:46 AM He could probably sell some of the jewelery to afford it. Edgy DC Feb 05 2009 05:47 AM Adam Rubin sez: Ambiorix Burgos, who was dumped by the Mets in December, continues to throw his life away. According to Diario Libre, Burgos, who is free despite being charged with killing two women while driving a vehicle, allegedly got into a fight with another ballplayer, Flix El Gatico Martnez while they played dominoes. Martinez reportedly told police that Burgos pulled out a gun and threatened to kill him. Benjamin Grimm Feb 05 2009 08:05 AM Note to self: Never play dominoes with Ambiorix Burgos. On the plus side, we like intense competitors, don't we? Centerfield Feb 05 2009 09:29 AM I don't know how to play the actual game of dominos. But if he's talking about stacking them so they can fall in a line, I can see how that would drive someone to that sort of reaction. I mean, you spend all afternoon trying to get things just right, making sure to put plenty on the curves, splitting them into parallel tracks, then some doofus comes and knocks everything down while you're still working...few things in life are that maddening. I remember when I was ten my friend Mike did that to me like twice in one day. Had I been packing heat at the time, who knows what would have gone down. John Cougar Lunchbucket Feb 05 2009 09:46 AM lol Edgy DC Apr 22 2009 12:05 PM Burgos gets nine months for a September beatdown on a woman. Benjamin Grimm Apr 22 2009 12:25 PM If he had done it in March, would he have only gotten three months?
