  1. Former good guy Mike Cameron puts up a pair of ribbies against Philly, Brew crew up 3-1 in the 9th.
  2. Rockin' Doc wrote: Damn it Fman, now you've made me hungry. C'mon over, Doc! I'll make you an omelette.
  3. Johan says, "Take the Train to the Game!" They should mention the Citi Field parking fee. What is it now, $18?
  4. Hey, a 1-2-3 inning. For us! Let's Go Mets! Get some runs back! Optimism!
  5. Hey Doc, you got any breakfast sausages?
  6. Enjoyed Kevin Burkhart's testimony on how much better Busch stadium is than Citi Field. Then they showed Ozzie's walk off postseason dinger. What the fuck? Why are they doing this to me?
  7. Oh, I do enjoy the latest "don't smoke" commercial on SNY. A woman with a bunch of nubby fingers due to poor circulation. It's kind of hot, actually. I also have a hankering for Jimmy Dean breakfast sausages.
  8. Boo again. I'm beginning to think that the key to scoring runs is getting hits when there's a guy on 3rd base. But what the hell do I know. Now where is my gin?
  9. I liked our chances with Castillo up there and he hit it hard, but right at the guy. And so it goes.
  10. I'd like to see Castro block the plate more, like whats-his-nuts does for St. Louis. RBI FC, 3-1 Cards. Lame.
  11. A great quote, profanity re-inserted by yours truly. His business plan is another story. He talks plenty about that during the early interviews for this story. Asked if the ambitious design to provide a handful of specialty services for pro athletes is in place, Dykstra says confidently, "Have I got a 12-inch cock, or what? Of course, it is all in place. It might not look like it, but everything I do is part of a plan."
  12. Further reading on "entrepreneur" Lenny Dykstra, courtesy this time of ESPN. Is there anyone in this nation more full of shit than Nails?
  13. Frayed Knot wrote: Pirates broom the Marlins How about that! Cool them off, keep the Mets close in the standings. I like it. I've been looking for an excuse to go to Pittsburgh and see that park. I hear it's tremendous.
  14. Darren O'Day, claimed by Texas off of waivers. Now they have to roster him all year or he will go back to Los Angeles. His time as a Met is done, apparently. 3 IP, 5 H, 1 BB, 2K, 0 ER (2 unearned runs).
  15. I am mostly indifferent on the color schemes -- I don't loathe the black hats and jerseys the way some do. I still prefer home whites/pinstripes, and road grays, but whatever. It actually bothers me more to see them wearing "Mets" on the road instead of the "New York" in the traditional font. I liked the continuity of that - that they wore the city's name when they weren't in NY and "Mets" at home, regardless of colors. Ah well. I will also confess that I didn't notice it during play last night.
  16. Nice of the Yanks to trot out their most Earth-shaped pitcher for today. Apt!
  17. ="Frayed Knot":3u3rh1zk]A caller to Francesa's show the other day was talking about how not only are the (MFY) tickets expensive (he had good but not ridiculous tickets) but that many seats came only via a contract which locks you into those seats for two or more years with built-in price increases along the way. His point being that if the Yanx get the idea that they can sell some of the un-sold seats at reduced prices not only would they be screwing those who already bought at full price but even giving inducements via a discount for next season also screws those who bought early and are therefore already committed to to higher, not lower, prices.[/quote:3u3rh1zk] The important thing is that the MFY fans get screwed. batmagadanleadoff Apr 23 2009 06:29 PM Selig: Yankees, Mets to discuss prices Associated Press NEW YORK -- Baseball commissioner Bud Selig says the New York Yankees and Mets will be discussing whether to adjust their ticket prices after seeing premium seats remain empty at their new ballparks. Speaking Thursday to the Associated Press Sports Editors, Selig said it was an issue for the teams to decide, not Major League Baseball, and that he wouldn't make any recommendation. The Yankees are charging $500-$2,625 for Legends Suite tickets in 25 sections at the new Yankee Stadium in the first nine rows around the infield, an area that contains 1,895 seats. The Mets are charging an average of $175-$495 for 1,567 seats in the Delta Club, which includes 20 rows between the dugouts. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4093702 Nymr83 Apr 24 2009 06:14 AM the article makes it sound like they're going to discuss it with each other Frayed Knot Apr 24 2009 11:19 AM So if I have this straight, MLB - which has for years encouraged higher ticket prices by way of new (and often paid for by taxpapyers) stadiums with luxury boxes and "premium" seating - is going to discuss with two of its marquee franchises what can be done about the problems created by higher prices at new stadiums that were built specifically for the purpose of including larger amounts of luxury boxes and premium seating? batmagadanleadoff Apr 24 2009 08:36 PM From the AP article on tonight's Met game: ]Unlike the Yankees, the Mets' premium seats behind home plate were filled, although they have far fewer and at much lower prices. Just 34 of the 92 Delta Club Platinum seats in the first two rows were occupied in the first inning but about 80-85 percent filled by the third. The top price was $295 for the first "value" game of the season, down from $695 for the opener and $595 for the remaining games on the first homestand, which were classified "gold." At the Yankees, a majority of the 1,895 premium seats that cost $500-$2,625 were empty for the final five games of their opening six-game homestand.
  18. Sloppy and frustrating to watch. Gave me the brain pain.

  20. Well that sucked moose cock.
  21. Last dance last chance for love...
  22. Well this game has gone from bad to worse. How does Beltran not slide?
  23. Slappy McSinglesmuch with yet another hit. Cora PH for Fossum.
