  1. Aw we're just sitting on our dongs doing nothing! C'mon, Omar. When you're done offending white people get on the stick, get us another arm/bat.
  2. Niese 1 Green .5 Parnell .5 Francoeur 1 Tatis 2 Wright .5
  3. ="MFS62":2y8a65p2]After tonight's game, an ESPN "expert" was saying that Victor Martinez would be an excellent fit for the Mets. (Didn't catch the name, but it may have been Andrew Marchand). He added that he didn't think it was too likely. But it would make sense to me - against lefties playiing first with Santos catching and catching with Murphy at first against righties. (Yeah, I know, Murph hits lefties pretty well. But the Mets need that thumper.) Later[/quote:2y8a65p2] Twitter sez... SI_JonHeyman: #mets spoke briefly about victor martinez but wont part with mejia, holt or niese. #redsox, #rays more active with v-mart. He plays pathetic defense and really hasn't hit that well, with the exception of taking walks. He's hitting a home run less than once a week, and who knows if he'll be 100% if/when he comes back.[/quote:3subh3w8] And here was me thinking that Sheffield was one of the better players for the Mets during the worst of times this season. Hitting a home run less than once a week seems an odd way to make a point ceetar.
  4. Cory get on base. Time for Omir to go all Papelbon-y on this fucker.
  5. Great inning for Green. I know how to get things working for the good guys. Bring out the unofficial IGT mascot of the CPF 2009.

  8. The large-cocked Mets win again. Rain day schmain day.
  9. Johan owns these guys. Time to strizzetch.
  10. ="LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr"] CSB don't need no lunch break-- he is nourished by insure-runs. Thanks for lunch, Angel the Better! (And Hawpe, who's quite terrible in RF in ways both obvious and subtle.) I don't have to tell you, that I LOVE creepy sun baby. He's welcome in my backyard any damn day.
  11. Just got here, stupid meetings. Listening on MLB Gameday Audio as the SHaMs are rolling.
  12. ="Nymr83":3b91iz43]if they're not going to use him they should get rid of him, call up a hitter, and stop carrying a short bench. if they're going to keep him around, this is what he's here for.[/quote:3b91iz43] Seriously. We want a hitter, not a belly shitter. Wait, is that how it goes? That doesn't look right. 15. Wally's doesn't so much write as he ejaculates, buckets of creamy idiocy.
  16. ="bmfc1"]Some of the regular writers are on vacation or perhaps are shell-shocked so the lineups aren't be posted as fast as normal. From Burkhardt: METS: Pagan Castillo Wright Murph Francoeur Sullivan Santos Cora If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Aside from the Schneider/Santos platoon it's the same lineup all week. It'll look better still with Sheff in there instead of Cory Haim-Feldman-Sullivan.
  17. This just in... SI_JonHeyman: #mets seek a lefty reliever. apparently wanted to give p. feliciano a break. some candidates: beimel, grabow, downs. (9 minutes ago from web)

  22. ="MFS62"]A quick side note (maybe this belongs in the "In The Booth" thread): During the Mets post-game radio show tonight, Wayne Hagan said "Mark was relieved by ex-Houston Astro Octavio Dotel". Methinks Wayne needs to take some additional classes in his Met-ucation. Back to topic. Mark is a pitcher, in the finest sense of the word. When I saw the highlights of his perfect game, I don't recall seeing the radar gun top 87 MPH on any of his pitches. I agree with Doc, more pitchers should emulate him. Later Wayne's a mercenary. He's got no pedigree. I don't want anyone doing Mets games that's not a) a former Met player or a lifelong Met fan. Gary, Howie, Ron, Keith. That's it.
