  1. No local TV coverage... they get Fox Sports "Rocky Mountain" which is showing, of all things, Fran Healy interviewing some Yankee fuck. Mocking me. I'm watching the Biggest Loser and following the game on CBS' Gamecast for now.

He gives me a not-so-fresh feeling. C'mon, let's go for a walk on the beach and talk about this in greater detail.
  3. Whomever bitched when I took out two hitting positions per roster... you can see even after that move that there is NO help on the wire, hitters-wise. I'm glad that I'm not trying to field still two more hitters every night.
  4. I just assumed it was what Stalin and Hitler had agreed upon.

    Sack One

Maybe I'm a whack job, but I'd never carry MLB floatsam like Tatis and Cora on a roster when I could give a guy like Evans or Carter a shot to show that they could actually play in the majors, even if they have to earn that shot through irregular appearances from the bench. Tatis and Cora, and Jacobs, and these other age 30+ retreads, should get the ol' prom night dumpster babies treatment, is what I'm saying.
  6. I think it must be more like an episode of "Yo Gabba Gabba" in O'Connor's head, childish and intolerable to all but the smallest and simplest minds.
  7. soupcan wrote: That's the way to go Fman. I go in that direction back to CT after games. If you hit traffic at all, it'll be light and only as you are getting on to the Whitestone bridge. The lack of congestion will more than make up for any extra distance you travel. Thanks soupy.

  9. Gwreck wrote: If you're heading back towards Ulster County (or points north), you might try taking the Whitestone bridge to the Hutchinson River Parkway. Take the Hutch north to I-684 North, to I-84 West to I-87. Might be an extra 10 miles out of your way but probably gets out out of the city limits as fast as possible. Thanks Gwreck, I think I will try that this time.
  10. Fboy and I will be at Citi Field on Wednesday April 28th for the Mets/Dodgers 1:10 tilt. Last year we got killed in traffic -- 45 extra minutes in and 2 hours back out, just to drive from the Grand Central to the Triboro to the Deegan and out to the Thruway north. Not sure if there's a better choice... was just checking the train schedule and I wouldn't save any time by driving to, say, Beacon, and taking the Metro North to GC and picking up the 7 train. I may drive down to my parents' house in Ulster County the night before so that we can have a short train ride in the next morning... not that the wife will be happy with that choice as that will essentially be two nights that we're gone instead of one. Is there a better, less traffic-y escape from Queens on a weekday after 4 PM? I have to believe that it'd suck way more trying to cross Manhattan into New Jersey... The Throgs Neck? The Whitestone? Happy for any useful advice anyone has.

  12. I'm happy thus far -- I'm a little lean on power but I have good pitching and other hitting categories.
  13. Let's see the Mets take a series from these mooks. Johan vs. Livan.
  14. Second year in a new park = very predictable drop off in attendance. Happens to most if not all teams (though I suspect those dickheads in the Bronx will continue to sell out their games, what with them winning and all).
  15. Apparently Raul Valdes is being called up from AAA to replace Sean Green, who is going on the 15-day DL with a "small rib cage tear." I approve of any transaction that results in less Sean Green appearances.

  17. Willie Harris can eat a dick, I hate that guy.
  18. Feliciano sucking on the Ollie no strike cock.
  19. I traded five innings of a nap for Ollie. I think I come out ahead.
  20. Never mind, got em off eBay (thanks LWFS for the link).
