  1. Rey-Rey is runner up for Zero. That's gotta count for something?
  2. This is the first time I ever heard that-- what a moron.
  3. Cumbersome, yes. But thems are some purty pictures. The powder blue Montreal unis are to die for...
  4. SI is running a list of the best baseball players to wear specific numbers and it is a joke. For 17, they chose Dizzy Dean (fine) but for runners-up?: Mark Grace, with honorable mention to Lance Berkman, Vic Raschi, Todd Helton, Brandon Webb and BJ Surhoff. No love for Mex. The rest of the list is similarly flawed. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0804/mlb.best.baseball.players.numbers.0-22/content.21.html
  5. To make matters worse, Bueno, who admitted purchasing those tickets (near the visitor Bullpen) so that he could "get on those guys a bit" is a public servant (police officer I think, though maybe a fireman).
  6. Mystery meat? Karl Ehmer? Frank Perdue? Oscar Meyer? Troy Percival?
  7. Trevor Hoffman?
  8. Melvin, not Brenly.
  9. The Museum of Television and Radio has thousands of shows, sporting events, etc-- but only those that are historically or culturally significant. There are lots of old super bowls, playoff games, etc- but I doubt the 78-79 Mets would qualify- the best thing about those tapes is that many of them include vintage commercials, including ones touting tobacco products.
  10. Is that a Derek Jeter jersey he has under his arm?
  11. Met Irish] It's worth a visit , pricey but that's how we roll...... http://www.sofritony.com/ Ilitests-- if I can't wear my Timberlands, they ain't gettin' my money!

  13. If only someone would break into the pressbox and punch them in the throat!
  14. Don Robinson comes to mind.
  15. Irish on a roll tonight.
  16. Owings should bat cleanup...wouldn't you agree, Val?
  17. Orel's a talking head for ESPN, but I think he's ticketed for a return to the field in some capacity (pitching coach, manager, GM).
  18. I could see Orel Hershiser replacing Peterson. If Felipe Alou were any younger, there's no doubt in my mind that Omar would've replaced Willie with him a looooong time ago.
  19. And, apparently, a dalliance with golfer JOhn Daly's ex: http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/mlb/?cnn=yes
  20. Excellent work and a much needed spirit-lifter after today's debacle. Thanks!
  21. SF has the best food at any sports or entertainment venue, hands-down. The Gordon Biersch garlic fries are enough to put them ahead-- add Sushi, Caribbean BBQ and top-notch Mexican fare and it is a landslide.
  22. Bissinger's a fetus-faced windbag. Sit up straight, man.
  23. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3375444
  24. Current Streak: 0 Longest Streak: 0 4/30: Jose Reyes
  25. Mike Cameron, fresh off a 25 game ban for PEDs, debuts in CF for the Brewers tonight. I always liked him, and hope he does well in Milwaukee.
