    THESE BALLS AIN'T RIGHT

    Dom Fucking Smith

NICE take on the 2-2 breaking ball, too. LFGM

Three pitches until the sixth, and we've got stew going... and just like that, they're going to cheat some warm up pitches

Flying out more often than a flight attendant who's running away from something at home

Junky, but it's dropping off the table like Johan's so far. I knew his change was good, but so far, it's been otherworldly.

The initial hype, followed by iirc, some smartassy comment from (I think-does anyone else remember this?) Keith Law tearing him down as a young prospect, chatter about his weight and attitude, dismissal that eventually permeated the fan base, amazon comeback. Currently he's way better than Alonso, and the very soul of the team I believe I am confusing Law's comments on Greg Vaughn's brother, whatever his name was, for Smith. Anyway. Possibly, but there was definitely quite a bit of whinging about the weight/supposedly diminished defensive range during Dom's first couple of minor-league scuffles.

I don't think they're going to be scoring much for Wacha today. Remember when some people thought JD Davis was a good defensive third base option? Ole!

    Brodie... got it... right? https://cdn.lolwot.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/20-of-the-weirdest-and-rarest-diseases-known-to-mankind-1.jpg>

Been noted, but for the sake of getting it out here: he was the only Met to do so. Conforto: "I told [Dom] I wish I had been out there with him... we support him 100% no matter what he chooses to do." Also Conforto: "I probably won't. It's just my personal decision to stand for the national anthem. That's what I've always done. But I will be there with him. He knows that I support him." So... like... in spirit? "No matter what he chooses to do," like you would an idiot child that you love, Mike?

"Brad Brach for the four-out save" might be the one thing that makes my stomach as swimmy than "In comes Diaz to get them out of the bases-loaded jam."

Outside pitch the opposite way. Buffaloed.

Good Lord, Berti. That's one way to get around the RiSP issue.

JohnnyLags Action! I kinda cackled when that liner happened last inning. Because... hey! Our team! Our time!

It's that the "slip-up"-- along with each subsequent apology attempt-- reveals that he's kind of a troglodyte. And if your job is to build a bridge to the public on a nightly basis, and serve as a sort of audio ambassador for the ballclub... how helpful is it to the club that the public knows this guy feels this way about them/their family and friends? Never mind whether forgiveness is deserved... in a case like this, in a job like his, how is forgiveness plausible?

Nobody mentioned his apology? Oh, it was https://www.sbnation.com/mlb/2020/8/19/21376724/thom-brennaman-slur-home-run-call-apologya "good" one. [bLOCKQUOTE]As Brennaman started apologizing later in the game, Reds outfielder Nick Castellanos hit a home run that Brennaman called before going back into his apology.[/bLOCKQUOTE]
