And even if he goes after him there the run will score during the chase.For that play alone our mgr gets the name WWBB - at least for the night.on second thought, the second baseman appeared to be moving in the same direction as dw. i wasnt paying enough attention the first time, and thought it was the SS who recieved the throw from teh catcher, and therefore would have been moving towards dw.never mind.

    well, if i do a simple transposition of our 1b OPS and C OPS into the other's category, we'd have the 11th best C OPS and 13th best 1b OPS.i'm not sure if we've learned anything from this statement tho...

    damnit. i actually agree with sal. er, bret.well, not so much on the extent of the hyperbole that in not making any trades we "saved the franchise" only that im glad we didnt make any rash moves. especially not for soriano, or that ridiculous manny/baez accumulation.now, cammy/milledge for manny, i dont think would have ruined the franchise, and likely would have helped moreso than it would have hurted, but whatever. im happier that our farm system is intact than i would be if we had manny butchering baseballs both at the plate and in left field.i think its exaggerating things to think that the 2-5 trip was the sole determining factor, but it sure didnt help anybody think that the events of last year would not repeat themselves in the wake of a big-splash deal this year.... tho i would be EVEN HAPPIER if we had gone, say, 5-2, and still not made a trade, and there's no reason to think that we certainly would have, had that been our record.

    i'd be surprised if the players were stricly forbidden from disclosing what they took that got them to register a "false" positive...if i were palmiero, and i were not juicing, would submit whatever the hell i think i took that merited me a positive hit, and submit it to any testing agency i could identify, and disclose the results of the seemingly legal and aboveboard product that sullied my good name.if i were not juicing, that is...

    that sounds oddly familiar. but i couldnt possibly imagine a newpaper sports "journalist" would ever allow an actual proveable fact to get in the way of a perfectly good rant. that would never happen.
