  1. Nice to get a W but jeez, how about some offense, dudes?
  2. Ashie62 wrote: Maybe shuffling the lineup might help. Lagares and Deaza are MIA. Hard to shuffle 8 quiet bats. But I'd expect Flores, Lagares and Plawecki to play today.
  3. Ya know, this team can't hit for shit.
  4. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Of the Five Aces, Matz is the one I'm most skeptical of. This. He was positively Niese-esque in how he let that inning get away from him.
  5. Eh, a little too early to be worried. Fillet some Fish and all will be right with the world. If they look like crap coming into May, and deGrom still isn't back, then maybe it's time to reach for the Xanax.
  6. OK to walk Stanton any time you feel like it, Steven.
  7. Yeah, I don't like the twin data points of lowered velocity and back soreness.
  8. 3, I believe. North by Northwest was Mount Rushmore and the Statue of Liberty was Saboteur, another Hitchcock film. Looks like we're getting Late September Cespedes rather than the August model.
  9. Worried about deLat. Isn't that what kept Matz out of action for two months? Always loved the Walker deal, and Conforto doesn't seem to be too worried about the whole Sophomore Jinx thing.
  10. Never leaves Vegas. Joins a Rat Pack tribute act as Dean Martin.
  11. He might get a chance to lower that ERA. In 2017.
  12. That sound you hear is thousands of Mets fans stepping back from the ledge. Syndergaarrrrrrd, aye, he be special.
  13. The weak link, if you can call it that. 9-7, 3.60 ERA, 1.25 WHIP
  14. I found her less annoying than anyone else on ESPN, but that's a pretty low bar to clear.
  15. My Red Sox fan boss has put a meeting on my calendar from 4-5 PM. Bucknerbucknerbucknerbucknerbucknerbuckner.
  16. FREE MLB.TV if you're a T-Mobile subscriber. My wife has a tablet on T-Mobile and we can get all out of market games. You have to sign up by 4/10. Amazing but true. http://9to5mac.com/2016/04/03/how-to-free-year-mlb-tv-premium-live/
  17. Not liking the John Mayberry Jr-era offense.
  18. Attention ESPN announcers: THIS GAME IS NOT ABOUT YOU.
  19. God, ESPN sucks so much. One of the downsides of being a better team is the greater chance of your Sunday games being broadcast by this clown show. Somehow the fact that Dallas Braden was wearing sunglasses today was like, hugely important, more important than the fact that the Mets are defending National League champions, apparently.
  20. I think he'll be the 8th inning guy by the end of the season if his arm holds up. Stats: Humina-humina. He's a relief pitcher. He'll throw some innings and give up a run occasionally.
  21. Sorry to say, 84-78, 2nd place, miss the playoffs. Starters will be fine, but they'll be done in by a weak offense and an underperforming bullpen. Washington will come out firing on all cylinders and put it away. Dusty Baker is no Matt Williams. Mets won't sneak up on anyone this year. Urination will be frequent, however.
  22. Hosmer said their revenge was winning the World Series. Can't say I disagree. Ned Yost said it was bullshit as well.
  23. Bacon slab covered with peanut butter pretzels. On a stick. This will either be really good or really bad. Either way, it's a heart attack waiting to happen.
