  1. I fear that this series is the trap door through which the Mets season will fall. Just a gloomy hunch.

Is it a lefty thing? Frayed Knot wrote: Matz is like the anti-deGrom out there, totally unable to work out of trouble once something goes wrong Agreed also. Matz can breeze through some innings, then hit a bump in the road and just. not. be. able. to. get. out. of. it. It's frustrating to watch. That second inning he gets the first two outs and then before you know it, three runs. Meanwhile the Mets have bases loaded and no outs, the pitcher on the ropes, and they go strikeout, double play. It's pathetic. Boy, Marcia was hot even in a cardigan.
  3. St. Louis, Washington and Miami could be involved in a three-way plane crash. Outside of that, eh, I got nothin'. And meanwhile everything has come up roses for Washington. And that explains why they're 8 1/2 up on the Mets and pulling away.
  4. I think Yo opts and leaves. He'll get a nice contract from somebody. Bruce is a hedge but I don't think it was a head game. I'd really like to see Granderson moved. Lagares I assume would man center next year, perhaps with a dash of Nimmo mixed in.
  5. How many times have the Mets played someone out of position? How many times has it gone well?
  6. No Puig please. The Dodgers have been trying to get rid of him for two years with no takers. He can't play center and he's a jerk.

  8. I just get the feeling that we'll regret the Bruce trade. As in, his numbers will fall off the cliff. I believe that scientifically it's known as Roberto Alomar Syndrome. Good players that come to the Mets and instantly become Eric Campbell clones. Hope I'm wrong. Fear I'm right.
  9. Knowing you were short in the bullpen I'd have pitched Robles for two innings. That leaves you both Blevins and Reed if you need them. Getting left with nothing but Seth Lugo was ridiculous. Terry gets locked into his bullpen roles so Addison Reed must pitch the 8th inning every night, it seems. This is the second time in a week that the Mets wasted a dramatic come-from-behind home run in a loss. I'm just not feeling it with this team. They find too many ways to lose.
  10. I could be okay with this if it was Nimmo. I am NOT okay with this with Herrera.
  11. Second the motion.
  12. Edgy MD wrote: Jonathan Lucroy is just Jonathan Lucroy. Let's not buy him on impulse just because they've displayed him next to checkout counter and our blood sugar is low. This. lol.
  13. I can't un-see that. Wubba Wubba Lub Dub.
  14. Dunno, I see Bruce as a kind of redundancy. There are too many outfielders already, and a Cespedes/Granderson/Bruce outfield is scary beyond belief. I was hoping they'd shop Neil Walker for something to restock the farm with, then bring up Dilson, who's rotting in Vegas.
  15. They should be sellers, but it's probably too late now.
  16. Dorothy, you're not in 2015 anymore.
  17. When they posted the lineup at Citi, there was a lot of 'huh?'
  18. I stand corrected. They do speak fluent Germen.
  19. Ten hits, a walk and a Colorado error = 1 run. YOUR New York Mets, ladies and gentlemen.
  20. So does Familia just go sideways every year in late July? If he does, maybe next year they should just give him a vacation or something.
  21. Only if she can hit with runners in scoring position.
  22. Well dammit, a major-league baseball team should be able to put up at least one run in a bases-loaded, no-out situation.
  23. Sometimes, scoring runs for this team seems as difficult as passing a kidney stone.
