  1. He'll hit .220/25/62. With the Mets, shooting for the moon frequently results in an inability to escape the earth's gravitational pull, culminating in a painful, fiery reentry into the atmosphere before a disastrous explosion.
  2. I know spring training isn't supposed to mean anything, but I'd like to see a little 'rounding into form' over the next two weeks.
  3. Gets a cuppa in September. Not sure he'll ever hit enough, but his defense is major-league ready.

  5. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I wouldn't be terribly surprised if the Game Two starter was Harvey or Vargas. Hopefully not Harv. The missus really hates him.

How does a day game get you out of dinner? When that dinner's in New Hope, PA.
  7. Oh, I'd go. But I'd wear this.

  10. 41Forever wrote: She's a bad ass. The Brawny ad came after she set records climbing to the top of the Ren Cen -- 71 stories in under 13 minutes wearing 70 pounds of gear. https://www.hometownlife.com/story/news/local/canton/2016/03/07/canton-firefighter-maureen-stoecklein-fight-air-climb/81457570/ Wow, and she did it without straining any quads. Can she hit?
  11. It's incredibly sappy. But- He beats the Yankees and shuts up their obnoxious fans. Lots of Vin Scully.
  12. It's all about those quads. Healthy for 140-145 games, he could be MVP. I'm guessing he'll miss some time and be somewhere around .280/30/90.
  13. He'll be a favorite of the beaters, for sure. How he ends up will depend on the health of his team.
  14. Good Lord, we have some dorky looking pitchers.
  15. Robles is talent without execution. It's early, but he appears determined to punch a ticket to Vegas.
  16. 10-3 Metropolitans. Cespy 3-run bomb. Gsellman looked gsood. Lobaton HR to put pressure on d'Arwecki.
  17. I think all that weight Dom Smith lost over the winter was immediately transferred to the Mets batboy.
  18. Cespedes obliterated a ball, which is always fun to see.
  19. I expect a pretty much typical season- 35/100, .255/.320/.520. In the middle of the order, if he and others stay healthy, that'll be quite satisfactory.
  20. So basically, when I watch it on the DVR all I need to watch is the bottom of the 8th. Kewl. And how baseball-starved do I have to be to DVR a February spring training game? Very.
  21. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Jeez. Well, Mickey gets to start his managing career by sending a message. He is all about "accountability". I hope Dom wasn't late because he stopped at a pizzeria. This. Good on Callaway for showing who's boss. Dom, they're not going to hand it to you and Alonso's breathing down your neck. Focus.
  22. Putting on quite the gun show for that sideline reporter. And I have houseplants that can field better than Travis Taijeron. Guess he'll get a cuppa since he's probably #7 on the outfield depth chart.
  23. Thanks. I'll be in Missouri a lot as well as Europe for a bit. Don't mind if I miss Cardinals and Royals games. Didn't know you could connect from Europe with no blackouts. That's kind of cool.
  24. Does MLB Extra Innings go by your IP address when you sign up or the IP address when you connect, for the blackout rule? And is it available overseas or US only? Going to be doing some traveling this year and thinking about signing up. oe: Duh. I'm actually asking about MLB.TV, not Extra Innings.
